I was looking at a certain famous designer's website and I really like their "nail" pieces.

So in the spirit of challenging myself, I decided to make a nail ring, from sterling.
I think I got pretty darn close to the original.

Thank you! I've been wearing it all day, and it's comfortable!
I tried to get the proportions as close as I could to the original "nail" ring.

Wow, I am so impressed! I wish I could learn to make jewelry, I'd love to apprentice somewhere once a week.

That's truly incredible, @stracci2000. You "nailed" the design! <3

That’s hugely impressive, and it must be so much more enjoyable to wear something that’s a labour of your own time and love. Love it!

Oh my gosh, I love it! You did a fantastic job. You're very talented @stracci2000 :appl:

I really appreciate all the positive comments!
Your opinions mean so much to me!

Absolutely none of my friends or family (except for DH) know about fine jewelry or would care that I copied a piece by a world famous design house.
Thank you all for "getting" it!

Making my own jewelry is a constant source of joy for me. Really!
I always look forward to weekends when I can get creative!

I can understand this. I need more time to be creative. Maybe when I finish my PhD I will weasel my way into an apprenticeship or try and learn how to work with metal.

Fun fact: my first girl scout badge was the jeweler!

Incredible! Bravo! Great job! Frankly I am not into branded jewelry, especially the nail line, but I love the hack! I can’t believe that would be $2600. Again, hats off to your awesome talent!

Thank you for the kind words!
I'm not into branded jewelry either, mostly because I can't see spending on it, as it's all priced out of this world. (However, I wouldn't say "no" to a pretty little VCA motif necklace, if it fell into my lap)
But when I saw this ring design, I immediately wanted to give it a go.
I'm glad I did it, it was fun to wear today!

This is so impressive!! Did you put your own makers mark on it? :twisted2:

How do you find wearing the ring?

The reason I ask is, I love the JUC line but find the JUC really uncomfortable as a ring due to the way it juts into the finger… was thinking that if they made the surface touching the finger flat (so that the nail head is demi-lune shaped), it’s be so much better for daily wear.

Thanks Pomelo!
I have a "D" stamp that I usually use to mark my pieces. But I did not mark this ring because the inside of the shank is convex, and the D would be partially incomplete and look like this... I )

Honestly, I'm surprised it is comfortable. I did read about some wearers finding it to be irritating. But I have skinny fingers, so the nail head doesn't poke my finger at all.
