Sumfin is pretty impressive. Beautiful color and cut, and from my past experience, Dana's prices are pretty competitive, so I think it is a very nice catch, and very red one! Congratulations!

It has a bit of fluor in the dark under a blacklight... nothing to write home about... but hot damn! Outside in the sun... I just had to share it

Hehe, yes, that one! True pastel spinels are apparently quite rare to come across, and a padparadscha spinel seems more affordable than a sapphire in that color and saturation! I paid for it via paypal but never got confirmation from Dana about it...so I don't know if I actually bought it or not. Sometimes it sells, and the button just doesn't update, this happened to me once before and I got a refund a few days later, so I don't know if I got it this time. I just sent him an email.

Oh, and as far as setting, I'm a simple&sleek person myself!
I'd vote a yellow gold semi bezel, maybe with some engraving if you went with Sally.
