you know, not the vintage or label costume jewlery
not my cheap dyed freshwater pearls
im talking about pretty little impulse buys from the accessory counter or even the $2 shop, from the avon lady or
perhaps crafty items from developing countries
some of these little trinketly pieces that you just can't part with and that still get the occasional day out
I'm a fan of mixing and matching
I was 22 before i got my ears pierces and nickel alloys don't seem to worry me so ive never been able to resist earings that take my eye
Sometimes i wish Gary would just go to trade aid (its a bussiness that works with communities in the 3rd world and they get paid fairly- they do good coffee and chocolate, great xmas decorations, trinkets and bits and pieces and really pretty jewlery from all over) and buy me $5 earings and I'd still love them like they cost 5K - but he just doesn't do jewlery
When i worked in Porirua one of the best malls in Wellington was a 2 min walk down the hill (5 min walk back up)
Anyway some times jewlery is just ment to be fun and nothing else
A lady in our paint dept and I used to try and outdo each other in necklases - all in fun and freindship
-some times we would wear good stuff and other days just fun stuff
this shop in the mall (some Aussie brand) had stacks of cheap fashion pretties with sales every other week (3 for $20) to make room for whole new ranges coming in it seemed like every other week or less
i think if you wear it often, it doesn't matter if its cheap or exspensive, your getting value for money out of it
anyway we wore a really ugly staff uniform so it felt good to add a little self expression and if it got wrecked or lost at work it didn't hurt the wallet
This is the braclete i lost and found in long grass walking home one day - it cost about $7 but boy was I was upset when i lost it
it needs a new jump ring (i owe it that kindness)
i used to wear it stacked with some plain silver chain braclets
