The Monterey area is stunning. You'll have a great time there. We loved 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach.
Fourtane in Carmel seems to have beautiful antique jewelry (and modern stuff, too). I used to work on some of their ads for a publishing house, so I saw a lot of their stuff over the years. http://www.fourtane.com/ I never got to go when I visited, unfortunately.
