So...white gold or rose gold for this beauty? Or both??

I’d vote for a diamond setting(think invisible but blingy) , but since they don’t exist, rose gold all the way. Stunning !!!!!

Hey! I didn’t realize opalescent gemstones were a thing but I have admired them for a bit. Figured I share this 3.54 ct opalescent spinel cab from Tanzania. Measures 9.6 x 7.2. I have it pictured here with a pair of spess garnet that some day I’ll set all together. This cab, like the best of them, reminds me of a jelly bean. :)

I just snagged a very pretty silky lavender Amethyst. They have another one in stock that is a bit larger - not truly opalescent, but still lovely and wanted to share in case anyone else is interested!

@Laurainthesky I was debating getting this one too - but I think the one I got will be a fun way to experiment with steps cuts.

If anyone else is interested....this is also much less expensive - the asscher was ~$250 with shipping

I put a 26 ct trillion on my ebay watch list for a potential pendant. lol My other stone is over 11 ct which is pretty awkward as a ring stone for a small finger, but I will make it work. The one you got is very classy and elegant. I went in a less classy direction lol.

Haha nothing wrong with getting a honker! I was tempted...I just knew I couldn't quite pull it off!

In case you are still looking for a trillion - I thought this one was really unique...

I did some digging. Most lavender quartz is probably irradiated.

Oh fascinating- I didn’t know that...

I was looking at a 25ct trillion for $50 on ebay and my too good to be true meter went off. Thus I investigated.

The vendor I got mine from said the amethysts they source aren’t treated. It wasn’t inexpensive so maybe that’s the case. I guess I won’t know unless it’s certed!

Yours was not cheap like mine. If you trust your source, then probably natural. Mine is very likely irradiated.
