I am considering purchasing this stone from an aquaintance and I am not sure about the overall quality of the stone. It is a Jubilant Crown round and I have information from an EGL-USA report as follows:

Weight: 1.0 ct
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Measurements: 6.35x6.31x4.0 mm
Depth: 63.3%
Table: 44.0%
Crown: 16.0%
Pavilion: 45.0%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick Faceted
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None
Culet: None

My question is, Is this a good diamond based on above numbers? Any input would be much appreciated.

welcome to ps!

i''ve never seen this type of stone.

the table is extremely small compared to a traditional round. i am assuming that has something to do with the ''jubillancy'' of the crown.

if you have seen it, loved it and are getting a rrrreeeally sweet deal, then go for it!

best of luck!

It looks like the stone is a tad deeper cut and a tad smaller then what most 1 carat rounds want to be (i.e. 6.5mm). But the difference seems quite neglijable to me, and in nature many 1 carat rounds ideal as they might.. are not 6.5mm either.

How the details of the cut play out in small detail, I don't know...

Would love to see an IdealScope picture of this (good for a cut nerd!)

EGL being the US branch ... sounds pretty good for the sake of the F/VS part.

And ... I am a sucher for fancy cuts with drastically reduced tables. Be it on diamonds or any other precious stone. I would not expect any tremendous impact on how bright these diamonds are (or the price), but perhaps a subtly different look I fell for a while back after seeing such small-table and dome cuts on colored stones.

This really is my kind of guy - no extinction, small table... Perhaps the extra few facets are more a matter of branding than anything, but the same proportions would surely turn the 'normal' round brilliant in a fire cracker. I hope your stone doesn't err far from that prediction.

Too bad there are no rounds cut this way... as far as I am concerned.

You must have seen the webiste of the JC diamond - just for the record (LINK). There was no previous mention of this cut here. Sure the pics look nice - what you'd expect from some adds

I have attempted to attach a picture showing the difference between a standard cut and the Jubilant Crown. It does have more facets and thus a smaller table. I got the information on the diamond directly from the EGL-USA sight so I am assuming they did the grading not EGL.

anybody else have any input? Good or Bad would be appreciated.

I was looking at one in my diamond search. Although pretty, I couldnt get past the small table. I was thinking, how would the light leave the diamond? If its a fancy shape you love Is say go for it:)
