Okay, here is a jeweler who makes nice 4 prong martinis! I have zero idea of the price, but I am sure they'll be more than the ones from GOG, so you may still not want to do it. But save for future reference because these are good 4 prong martinis!

Can't hurt to call them for a quote. You'll need to know the diameter measurement of your stones. I'd be curious as to how much they are now if you find out!

I can't believe how long I'm taking to finish this! I started about the same time as SG87, and I bet she's enjoying those beauties like mad now!

I've been stuck in what feels like a pitch because I had no idea which direction to take. However, these two days have been great! After speaking with both Brian and Lesley, they have told me which are options are realistic and which are not. Brian told me he didn't recommend the truth settings because the diamonds were so small and the amount of metal used for the settings would overshadow the design (paraphrased). Long story short, my main goal now is to buy from GOG (thanks DS for leading me to this! ) and have BGD set the stones in them.

I plan to give GOG the measurements of my stones, so they can send me the proper sized settings. How does that sound to you guys? Is there anything I should be concerned about, look for, and specifcally request?

The following are the measurements to my stones:

0.318 ct I VS2
4.39 x 4.43 x 2.70
and

0.315ct I VS2
4.36 x 4.39 x 2.72

What sized settings should I be expecting?

I also posted some pics of the GOG 4 prong martini settings. How do they look to you? Do they look delicate enough, like the BGD martini cocktail ones?

I think they will be fine! I did feel like it wasn't really worth having custom settings made for stones that small, so you are probably making the right decision. I just wish you could find out from GOG who makes the 4 prong martinis so that BG could just order them and you wouldn't have to pay a setting fee!

Just a little update, though the final product still isn't done! I'm hoping it will be very very soon

I got the ASET and Idealoscope images from BGD. Though I bought them a while back, it's still nice to finally know how they look under these tools. Take a look!

I noticed some extra green on Stone 1 at about 5'oclock, and both stones' Heart images have some white hearts and some hazy colored ones. Should I be concerned?

BTW, I can't believe these simple studs still aren't done but Yssie's AMAZING setting has been said, done, and being loved right now.

Hi itzme -- I know you're leaning toward the 4-prong martini settings, but I just saw your thread and I wanted to show you my Truth studs because they're exactly the same size you're considering (.315 and .317). They nestle very nicely into the ear without feeling like they're poking in and stretching my holes (one of my main worries with martinis). In fact, the wires are pretty much rounded where they meet the posts, if that makes sense. I've been wearing them pretty much all the time since I got them and they are super comfortable. Anyway, I'm not trying to change your mind if you've already decided, but I just wanted to say how happy I am with mine in case you're still considering the Truth settings!

Octavia, thanks for showing me your thread! Those earrings look so beautiful! They look everything like I had expected. Unfortunately, I have already invested in another pair of mountings. I'm hoping it'll all turn out great. I will open the option to upgrade the settings to BGD Truths some time in the future, depending on the mountings I got work with the stones.

Oh, sorry, I missed that you had actually purchased other settings already. I have a feeling that yours will probably look very similar when you wear them, though -- you really can't see the sides of the settings when they're on the ear. Can't wait to see what yours look like when they're finished!
