Long time lurker, first time poster. Hello, friends! I have watched you help countless people spend their money on the most beautiful pieces imaginable - all for a great value, of course! No wasting of money done here. The best deals and the highest quality is always found. Well, I hope you've saved some of your dust for me, because I'm ready! Let me give you a brief history:

My husband and I have been married three years, and we did it differently. The engagement ring was $100, the wedding band was slightly more, but our first and foremost concern was our collective student loans totaling a whopping $200,000!!! Over the past four years, we have thrown everything we can towards those loans and in two weeks we will submit our FINAL PAYMENT!!! I am so happy! But of course, all this means is that now it is time to BUY SOME BLING.

I've scrimped and saved for years. I've said "no" to the things I desire for a VERY long time. Now, I don't want to go crazy, but I would like to treat myself and also to mark this occasion. I've allotted at least $1000 CAD for this purpose. I was considering a new engagement ring, but I'm too sentimental and I just don't think I'd wear a different one. A necklace, though, would be quite fun!

Here's my wish list:

-A white metal (silver, platinum, white gold, palladium, etc)
-Uniquness (not a solitary diamond pendant - too boring for my taste!)
-Does not have to be diamond, but diamond is preferred (because they go with EVERYTHING, dahling!)
-Around $1000-1500 CAD. This is about $740-1000 USD. I am happy to spend less :naughty: but I want it to be special.

As for style, I just want something beautiful! If it's timeless, that's cool, but too generic will bore me. Any ideas for where to look? I've checked out Ruby Lane, JbG, and ebay. So far nothing has screamed "THE ONE". Where would you look if you were on my hunt?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! I am very excited about this. I can't wait to commemorate this fruitful journey. I will wear this necklace and always think of what me and my DH have been able to accomplish.

That is really awesome that you two have knocked out that much debt in just 4 years!!! :appl: I would look at Whiteflash since they have great quality diamonds in their jewelry.

You might want to take a look at Blue Nile as well.

Thank you for the ideas! I had kind of looked at both but not very in-depth - I think I may have missed a few pretties!

Bravo to you and your significant other!!!

I'm going to throw this option out there (I've been eye-balling it for myself)...it is used but I think it is unique but still normal enough
to wear daily or for whenever you get dressed up. Cost leaves plenty for a nice night out too or maybe a little big of bling for
the wrist!

Edit ...Im going to throw a few more out too...

*note - I did not check any of the Return policys or feedback on anything I posted. As always, make sure they have good feedback
and a good return policy with no restocking charge.

Blue Nile also has this one on sale...you'll have to enter something like "baguette diamond halo pendant" to get it to come up.
http://www.bluenile.com/baguette-diamond-halo-pendant-18k-white-gold_44963?elem=title&track=product

This is small but has some interest...again, enter "diamond drop halo pendant" $593
http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-drop-halo-pendant-in-14k-white-gold_56461?elem=title&track=product

Also this one "vintage chandelier pendant"...it's different $540

Yay! Thank you so much for the beautiful ideas! You guys are giving me so much inspiration! I will post some of my favourite options:

1. JBG necklace:
http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/gallery/pendants-necklaces/moon-face-and-diamond-pendant#.VtKMHbxe6K3

But I would separate the oval diamond from the moonstone. And then eventually I would set the moonstone in a fashion kind of like this: https://www.rubylane.com/item/1223881-0207/Authentic-Tiffany-Co-Platinum-Opal-Diamond

Upside: two necklaces! One super unique, and one super goes-with-everything!
Downside: a bit up there for my price range, but that's why I divide the price by two, right? :naughty:
Also, not even sure if this plan is feasible. And maybe I could buy an oval diamond necklace for cheaper on its own.

3. https://www.etsy.com/listing/247432694/antique-platinum-and-diamond-bar-pin

Great post! I love I Think! And it's under budget!

Upsides: gorgeous, unique, under budget!

Downsides: might not go with every outfit ever. Perhaps not sparkly enough.

If you can tell, I'm really drawn to pieces that might be considered nearly one-of-a-kind, and pre-loved is totally ok with me!

I'm sure JbG make the mosaic pendants in house, may be they could make you a smaller one? Have you signed up to receive the newsletter? I think I saw a gorgeous bar necklace with French cuts, though it was about $1700. The moon face one has been on their site for a long time too, it is possible they might negotiate a bit on price.

Wow,

Congratulations! Thats some kind of detirmination.

Would you be interested in a diamond solitaire pendant? I found a couple stones just a tad over budget. They're shallow-ish so the spread is nice, especially for a pendant. I would bezel them personally. LOL Makes em appear a bit bigger that way. :D Perhaps a milgrain bezel if you want it a bit fancier. Check with David Klass or Ilya at The Diamond Zone (Ebay store & known to PS) to see what kind of pricing they have for a plain mount or halo option. Ilya has ready made options & often will adjust the mountings to fit a particular size.

Too bad I don't need a .40 cause these ones are nice. Make sure you put them on hold if this might be an option. They are well matched for studs too in case you want to go full tilt over budget. LOL The I might not be as eye clean as the J but I think the prongs or bezel will mask the speckles on the edge of the crown. The J will be plenty white for a pendant so don't be afraid of the colour. But put them hold or the lurkers will get them.

Shoot!! I missed the no solitaire part at the very top.

There have been some really nice options listed here. I like the mosaic pendant & I would email Grace to see what kind of configuration she can come up with your budget. :))

How about some of these? They may be a bit above your budget but most of these dealers will negotiate some. Hope you find just the right thing. I looked for quite sometime for a "celebratory" pair of earrings :) but eventually I found a pair I really love and wear a lot. The picture is one of the gessner pieces.
