This may have been posted, but if it has been, it is well buried. I just received it by e-mail. It contains stories that I know are true, but not all the stories that I know are true, about Mr. McCain and his famous temper. (It doesn't mention the one about his calling the second Mrs. McCain a four letter word that sailors often use to refer to female genitalia when she made a joke he did not like.) My favorite story, I think, is of his slapping the sister of a soldier who was missing in Vietnam who tried to approach him to talk in the Senate corridor. He's quite a gentleman.

Agh, good ol'' "mostly socialists" NBC, haha. Watch out, John McCain is angry!!! I bet he even yells! Somebody medicate him, quick, before other people get angry, too!

NEL you rock.

I don''t personally care what the POTUS calls his wife in private as that''s between them. Hopefully we will never have a president who uses the C word where it can be overheard. That''s just over the top.

Did you even watch the video?

I honestly wish he''d get at least as angry as I am over the Wall street mess...where''s that anger now?

Yes, I don't take terms like "hothead" and "dark side" lightly!

ETA: Add "finger pointing" to that list.

I much prefer a leader capable of getting pissed off. Namby-pamby, wishy-washy people who always use their 'inside voices' won't exactly impress the allies or strike fear in enemies. Imagine where we all would be without the anger of, say, Patton, MacArthur, or Truman.

I'm sure they were well acquainted with the nastiest of swear words. And didn't hesitate to use them. Well, we know for sure that Patton did!

To whom are you referring as namby-pamby or wishy washy? I don''t think one''s penchant for using four letter words shows manliness or any much better ability to make decisions during war time or with the lives of our troops.

I do care to know that McCain uses the 4 letter C word on his wife. Do any of your husbands use it on you? To me, a man who uses that word is a bit, well, low class. I don''t care how much money he has (courtesey of his 4 lettered c word wife).

Thanks for the link AGBF. I had heard of McCain''s infamous temper but also have never seen that video. Losing your temper and cussing is one thing, but using physical force on someone... maybe she should have pressed charges?

In the horse world, we require things like PROOF to accuse a trainer of abuse, either pictures or video..... where are the pictures and video that show McCain doing this.

BTW I would say this about such a video about Obama as well

Come on... get real

Holly, are you serious?

Of all the "comebacks/arguments" one could come up with for this, yours has got to be one of the most incredulous. First of all, we are not talking about swear words here (well, except for the gem he used on his wife). We are talking about what sounds like uncontrollable anger at times. Let''s review the major highlights here, and who said them:

A US Senator from AZ says he wouldn''t want John McCain answering that 3 AM call.

An ex director of the Republican Party says he would not trust him with the button.

Those are pretty stiff statements.

And then, you actually get physical violence. He backhands the neice of a missing man....

I won''t even comment further on that, it speaks for itself.

I don''t want a"namby-pamby" leader either, but I also don''t want one that wants to start wars where we have no business/reason. We''ve all seen how that''s panning out. I want someone who is not affraid to defend, but tries to keep peace.

You know, this type of response from you negates any chance you might have wanted for making a case for McCain. My mother does the same thing. It makes people stop listening....

Deb, thanks for the (scary) vid.

Interesting. I was searching for something and came across this. Seems somebody else doesn''t think he has the tempermant to run this country.

Hope you don''t mind me posting this Deb, but I found it quite relevant.

Well, I do care. They will be making snowmen in hell the day someone who verbally abuses his wife gets my vote.

We're a little cavalier because we've discussed said video about cursing his wife before. It's not a new topic.

However, I cannot see, here at work, the video that you all claim he slapped someone in. I have a much different viewpoint on that, and I'll be sure to watch it when I get home. (YouTube is blocked here.) So if I spoke out of turn, about something I have no real knowledge about, I retract my statement until further review.

Ellen, you should read the very long and very thorough RS (yes RS!!) article swimmer posted in the Dem thread. It's an eye opener. He doesn't just occasionally lose his temper or get angry for justified reasons. He's a loose cannon.

I watched the Youtube link and I didn''t see him slap anyone...

Hudson - Thank you !!!!

Where is the video or photo proof of this?

Also her report says shove. he could have easily gently pushed her shoulder in an effort to make her understand that he had somewhere to be he could not talk and it turns into heresay of a slap.

Where are the photos and video of this? I have seen ONE where he was angry and it was basically a reporter interrogating him.... I''d like to see the photos/video thanks

Being capable of getting pissed off under the right circumstances is one thing. Calling one''s wife a c*** for telling a joke you didn''t like is something else entirely. Just because someone can control his/her temper and doesn''t fly off the handle at the slightest provocation does not mean he/she is "namby-pamby" or "wishy-washy."

I don't know of a specific link but from what I understand it happened in public, in front of a large crowd including pool reporters. Many independent sources reported it at the same time. I've never heard the McCain camp or even Cindy DENY it either. **shrug**

ETA: I was wrong ... supposedly it happened in front of *at least five witnesses* including a couple of reporters. McCain's camp *did* deny it at first but McCain himself did not deny it when asked on the campaign trail about it. There is video of him dodging the question. Oh, and the original quote was he called her a "trollop" and the "c" word in the same sentence.

Found a link: http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_temper_boiled_over_in_92_0407.html

I don''t know if this contains enough "proof" to make the McCain supporters believe that the allegations are true, but I don''t think all of these stories about his temper can be 100% false.

What''s another way to say "Maverick" ... "Spoiled Brat"

You're right, there's no video. But apparently the neice of the missing man who spoke in the video, of witnessing the episode is telling the truth. I am linking a video of her speaking somewhere else. If she's lying, she's done it in more than one place. Frankly, I don't believe it is a lie, but that's just me. Also note in the video Deb gave of the quick shot of the note to the Senate Ethics committee she apparently filed.

Am I to understand that you dressed me down for what I said, even though there is NO PROOF, only HERESAY and INNUENDO about the alleged incident of him slapping someone in anger??????? Somebody said it, it must be true???
