In Indian culture it’s very normal for babies and children to wear jewellery! Babies (of both genders) wear silver anklets and high-karat gold bangles. Little girls traditionally have their ears pierced at one year old.

+1 @yssie! Was just coming in to write that. My mom has saved my baby bracelets and will give them to me to give to a daughter if I have one!

I loved bling as a kid and I love it now; though yes I did lose a lot of it (especially earrings!!)
