I recently left a stone with a jeweler to be sold on consignment. He told me that the stone won''t be covered by his store''s insurance...I find this very disturbing because if he "loses" it, i''m out of luck...Should I ask for the stone back?
Yes, ask for it back. Never leave your valuables with a store that does not offer insurance for their loss. Nearly every store does have such coverage. At least they were honest with you and that''s to their credit.
Find a different place to consign it. If they won’t take responsibility for your merchandise while it’s in their possession, you want nothing to do with them.
