I have been searching all morning for a link in a thread I saw recently but can't find now. It's a link to a jeweler (a woman, I believe) who uses baguettes to create rings that look like large step cut (Emerald cut) diamonds. Please help.

I think it’s called an illusion setting/design

They have great visual appeal. Are they durable? It would not be easy to supply a replacement diamond. If these can be made with diamond you could likely have a ruby or sapphire one made. Maybe even mixing the two, like a sapphire outer row, or a ruby center could be done. I have seen these composite, invisibly set, diamonds before in other style rings, but not like these. Very creative.

If you're on Insta then xothebijouxbox also has access to similar pieces. She's definitely had a pair of illusion-set earrings recently and I think I remember a pendant, but that may have been JbG (as above).

Based on that one video alone, am I the only one who think they do not have the same big flashes like proper ECs of the same size can offer?

DK
