I just purchased a solitaire e-ring for my fiance (she said yes) and am going to get a jewel jet to help keep it clean.
For those of you who have used the jewel jet, do you wipe your ring dry with a lint free cloth after the steam treatment?
Or do you just put it on and go?

It would not be very wet after steaming since the hot water of the steam evaporates pretty quickly in most environments which are not overly humid. A lint free cloth would be a perfect solution to any bit of leftover wetness, of course.

Ok, good.
If I use distilled water I won''t need to worry about spots?
I''d like for her not to have to dry it off with a possibly dirty cloth.

I love my jewel jet...my jewels are usually dry after steaming.

Happy New Year PSers!

I really like my Jewel Jet. I soak my jewelry in cleaner before steaming them off and then dry them with a paper towel.

I do the same as Marcy - I usually just dab lightly on the paper towel (that''s all the that''s needed), and the cleaner I use to soak them in is just some windex + hot water. I love my Jewel Jet!

On my wife's Tacori diamond and platinum rings, I usually start off by mixing one cap full of Blitz Gem & Jewelry Cleaner with a cup of water and lightly scrub under and around the diamond/band with a baby toothbrush (soft bristles). This removes the light dirt and smudges in which the jewel jet will not remove. Make sure you lightly scrub the pavilion of the diamond (the bottom), for a diamond, if the entire diamond is not cleaned, it will not sparkle.

Once I complete this, I rinse the diamond with lukewarm water. Then I begin with the Jewel Jet. I start by shooting steam under the diamond/band. Then around the diamond/band.

Once I complete the jewel jet, I mix one cap full of Gem & Jewelry Cleaner (non toxic) and one cup of water inside of my Sonic Wave Professional Ultrasonic Cleaner (cheap on amazon). I run around six 1 minute cycles on the ultrasonic cleaner. This machine gets rid of the excess grime the jewel jet did not steam away. Once I complete that. I rinse with warm water for about 30 seconds, then wipe down with a Jewelry Polishing Microfiber cloth.

And it Sparkles even more than using only the Jewel Jet!

OMG this sounds amazing. Can I hire you to come to my house and clean my diamonds (or at least train my DH how to do this)??
