This is the spess that Jeff offered in the last Gemscoop. It''s 3.10 cts. It showed a lot of inclusions in his magnified picture but he said they weren''t nearly as obnoxious in person. I actually can''t see them unless I use my magnifying glass. I helped my sister buy this since she is not Internet savvy. This is the picture Jeff sent me.

Do you think the pic he sent you is representative of what you see?

All the pictures were taken around 7:30 in the evening when the sun was pretty much gone. I might try taking some more photos tomorrow during the day. My sister likes the stone, so she has already decided to keep it.

Looks to be a vibrant stone.

Very pretty.

I love the first picture - it's so vivid and bright. No wonder your sister fell in love with it.

Cind, didn't you purchase a spessartite recently? How does it compare to this one? Or am I confusing you with another poster?

Yes, Chrono. I am the person who bought the spessartite from Richard Wise. I wish I could compare them, but I sent the stone back to him to do the setting. I think mine is a deeper orange than hers. Mine is extremely clean clarity wise which this one isn''t, although as I mentioned you really have to look to see the inclusions in this stone.

Thanks Lori!

It''s very pretty. What a good sister you are.

Its a great stone... I like the small inclusions...they seem to diffuse the light in the stone just a hint... not full on glow perse but a little extra something that adds nicely to the precision cut and nice color :)
