Hi guys! After months of research and thanks to your advice, my other half and I finally purchased the ring from JannPaul. Needless to say, the entire process and support was fantastic.
The ring hasn't arrived yet, for now we only have the stone and we are designing the setting.
How does the stone seem to you?

Furthermore, when you rotate the stone you can see some graining in the lower part (as in the attached photo). Is it just an effect of the video?

Thanks again!!
Any opinion? @DejaWiz @Kim N

Love seeing JP cuts. They are always so precise no matter the cut.

The red circled part is likely the inclusions noted on the report. It’ll not be noticeable in person given that it’s a VVS2 and located along the girdle.

Diamond looks good - the speckled effect along the bottom is likely reflection from the photo box/setup used during grading and imaging...I've seen it quite a bit with GCAL graded diamonds.

Thanks! ☺️ this reassures me!
But it only looks good? ☹️ I thought it was more than just “good” ☹️

Ahahah thank you! :lol-2:
but it's not what you would choose for yourself right?

It would be something that I would consider because of the smaller 56 table and shorter 75 lowers, although something with a taller crown height appeases my tastes more, like this one:

I also focused on the crown angle. However, I hope that the stone can perform well! Thank you! :geek2:

You're very welcome and it will - it's a very well cut and proportioned diamond!

Sorry if I ask you one more thing. I would like to know for the future what the difference is between a crown angle of 34.0 or 34.5. Thank you! =)2=)2

About this, I'm a little worried because this effect can also be seen a lot in the video recorded by JP (see attachhed photos). The same effect can be seen at the end of the video in the internal part where I point with the mouse pointer.Screenshot 2024-11-28 082310.pngScreenshot 2024-11-28 082422.png

Really don't have anything to worry about with this clarity grade... JannPaul wouldn't use GCAL if they weren't a lab that wasn't reliable.

Thank you! I trust them and your experience. Probability it is the effect of the camera. I asked them and they reassured me on that thing ☺️

What about this @DejaWiz ? I ask you also for possible future purchases :geek2:

No impactful different as long as the rest of the proportions jive together, which can be assessed with the advanced images.

Thanks! But when you say that you prefer a taller crown height, what do you mean?

@Klee_Bee, I think. you're getting a little hung up on numbers. Yes, numbers impact a diamond, but the numbers are always averages of what's going on around the whole diamond. Cut precision is incredibly difficult in something so small.

If you look at your GCAL images, you'll see that this is one of the most symmetric stones you'll encounter. That symmetry of all the arrows is what signifies cut precision.

Someitmes we see one arrow ok, but another will be skinnier/fatter. We see twisted pavilions, too. Those features mean that the angles aren't the same all the way around.

You have a diamond that has been cut in an organized fashion which means the light will bounce back to your eye in an organized fashion. Jann Paul doesn't sell anything less than superior cuts.

As to crown heights and angles, yes - they can vary. Sometimes a taller crown will behave a certain way. Your crown height is 14.5. Sometimes this can be 15. But as @DejaWiz said, everything has to work together. A taller crown without cut precision isn't going to give you better light return.

You bought an amazing stone that anyone would love to own. And over the years as you compare it to other people's diamonds, you will most definitely see a difference as long as you clean it regularly. I hope some of this info helps!

Thank you very very much for your detailed explanation! It’s really helpful! :mrgreen2:
