Oh I am so happy it went to a PSer! I had intentionally NOT posted that on a thread for someone looking for a rose cut ring bc I'm going to sell my engagement ring and was considering getting that one as my new e-ring! However I couldn't get past the scroll on the side for an e-ring and when I looked for it again the other day it was gone. I'm so happy to see that it went to a loving home though and a PSer to boot!.

It's beautiful and good quality rose cuts like that are darn near impossible to find. Wear it in good health and more pictures would be awesome! :appl:

I thought he retired? Is he still making stuff?

He no longer takes custom orders or custom stones. He makes jewelery as a hobby and sells his pieces as he completes them :)

On his regular website?

That is beautiful!! That stone -

so stunning!!

I had one eye on that baby for a while - as I would love a rose cut diamond ring - and can't go past a JM

so pleased it went to a good home!!

W  W! Fascinating piece! I adore rose cuts...

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. It really is an interesting kind of cut. The bezel set makes the stone look a bit larger too. And for those couple of PS' ers who were eyeing it, sorry. I do hope you can find something similair. I had called Ann Mckay (?) and spoke with her. She has some rose cuts and can do some fab rings. I almost went with her, because I only have white pieces. But in the end, after talking with James Meyer, he said he actually prefer the stone in yellow gold. And I loved the scroll on one side.

where does James Meyer sell these pieces?

On his website. He has some very interesting pieces. The rose cuts are my new favorite stone.

stunning!! JM is my favorite hands down!!!!

I don't see anything for sale on his old website. What am I missing?

Are you going here?

http://www.jamesmeyerjewelry.com/

When you go there, click on the images on the left side of the big picture, they'll take you to each category - engagement rings, earrings, coloured stone rings, etc. On each category page there'll be the items for sale (clickable) at the beginning of each page.

Just want to clarify:

He still makes custom order diamond rings, using his own antique diamonds, and will make wedding band to match the engagement ring to order.

He no longer takes custom order for colored stones, but he will keep making rings, earrings out of his own stones as they suggest themselves to him. I am sure you can ask what loose stones he has and what he can source or buy at Tucson gem show. You just cannot micromanage the design details. I had my tourmaline ring made this way early this year. I basically told him the approximate color, shape, and size of the stone I want, and gave him my budget. He then found a gorgeous purple-pink tourmaline at Tucson gem show. He then sent me a very detailed sketch of his idea. I didn't change anything in his sketch except metal colors. It turned out very well. I love it. Here is a link to it. The pictures don't do it justice.

It is very nice. What a special piece of jewelry for you to treasure.

Thanks. When I first got it, I told hubby not to show it to me. I wanted to get my camera and be surprised. I sure was surprised when I heard him drop it saying oops.

YAY...I found your thread on this beauty!!!

Lori
