James Meyer-- General Questions and 1278 Ring.

Hello,

I have recently contacted James Meyer about creating a setting for me for a Round or Cushion Cut Sapphire (which I haven''t sourced yet). The ring I am interested in is the 1278 ring. I was wondering if anyone who previously worked with James Meyer would tell me about their past experiences and possibly provide pictures if possible. I would love as much information as possible.

I found James Meyer very easy to work with, he is very pleasant to speak with on the phone. He reset my engagement diamond, I just received the ring last week. He created a new design for me, based on the fact that we were going to use two oval rubies in the design. After we spoke on the phone and he got an idea of what I wanted, he did drawings for me and then I picked the one I preferred. I would say it was a little over two months from my initial contact with him until I received the finished ring. I know he is planning to travel soon, so I am sure any requests at this point will take longer to complete. Well worth the wait!

I posted some pictures here on Pricescope, unfortunately they do not do the ring justice. I am going to try to put better pictues up this weekend.

Jsmith8 – As lil425 pointed out before, I believe Jim will be traveling to Italy in two weeks and he will be gone for a month.

I found him very easy to work worth and open to any ideas I had. He was very forthright about his prices and the time it would take him to complete the ring. I am getting my ring about a week earlier from his estimate which was a nice surprise. It took him about a month before he actually started to make the ring so I was a little paranoid that he wouldn’t have time to get it to me on time. When he started working on it he was able to complete in just a few days.

I would highly recommend him to anyone as long as they like his style of workmanship. This recommendation doesn’t come lightly as I am pretty picky about how I am treated and I even had a pretty big hiccup with him on one thing. He was willing to rectify the problem but I declined the offer as I liked the final result regardless. I am planning on ordering a wedding band from him if that tells you how much I enjoyed working with him and the love of his craftsmanship.

Do a search for James Meyer on here and you should find tons of pictures. You can also go on the show me the bling forum and you will find a couple active threads showing off his work. You will even find my thread on there as well.
