I think you should go with the 3 pron martini setting, I have round diamond studs and when we first purchased the stones we got the 4 prong basket setting and I ended up changing them out to the 3 prong martini because I felt they took away from the sides of the diamonds a little more than I liked... Can''t wait to see what you end up with I''m sure either way they will look fabulous!

oooh, those are going to be gorgeous. If you plan to wear them daily, I''d go for the four-prong and if only a few times a week, the martini (which is said to stretch out ear holes - hence not wanting to have if worn daily.)

Mine are a four prong and I love them, but you should try both styles on see which appeals to you more.

How exciting! They are beautiful stones.

So exciting! Congratulations, and a great size! I currently have martini''s and when I upgrade my current set, I''m planning to get 4 prong baskets. I think it all boils down to the look you want. I like more of that "pop" off the ear with a basket setting. (I think the diamond looks bigger that way) Some people prefer the martini earring that is more "nestled" into the ear. Here are a couple of threads by Bliss that I found helpful. She just recently had both martini and 4 prong baskets and there are pics of both. I''ve not posted links before, so I''m not sure these will link correctly.

Oh my!!! These are going to be just STUNNING!!! Congrats!

I''m a prong girl so far. So I vote for a 6 prong setting. Safety and ear hole protection.

Beautiful stones!! They`ll make lovely earrings!! I would also go with 4 prongs because of the ear stretching.

Err... have you requested the IS for these stones?

#1 stone is not that good from the loupe image, looks leaky to me. Can you post the GIA report number here?

What a cool stocking stuffer. They will be gorgeous. I''d go with the 4 prong.

I vote 4 prong! And those are some awesome stocking stuffers!!!!

The angles are no good in #1. Much too steep in the pavilion angle for that crown angle, request an IS for it and you will see how leaky the stone is. What is budget you are looking at for these stones? I will see if I can find anything.

THANKS!!!! Too cool.... I''m looking to spend no more than $5500... this is why I LOVE PRICE SCOPE! I asked her for the IS... it should be in email tomorrow... :)
