Hi All!
I am not entirely sure if this is the right forum but I thought I would try here since y'all know so much about settings!! I originally wanted a petite halo, with either 6 prong or a bezel because I tend to work with my hands a lot and I am clumsy. My BF doesn't like halos and I have heard that unless you spend a good bit, they can be high maintenance. The good part is after seeing quite a few of my guy friends propose with halos, I have decided I don't like them in real life.
However, after looking for some time, I am in love with two settings and wish I could meld them! I have always loved the look of a solitaire but thought they were kind of boring and dangerously high (terrified of catching it on something!) So, enter setting number 1, the "timeless" from James allen. Love the basket and the 6 prongs.

THEN I missed the sparkle of the halo and fell in love with the "thin french pave" also from James Allen.

While I know we can't afford to get a custom ring with both the basket from #1 and the band from #2, I would really love either one. Or, anything he buys. But, he asked for input!
SO, the questions are:
1. Do I really need 6 prongs? I'm a klutz but the thin pave comes in platinum in a price we can afford.
2. The basket on on Timeless is so beautiful but I am worried that 2.1 mm on a squared off band will look bulky.
3. The thin pave LOOKS really tall in the zoomed in photos, does anyone have a profile view of this ring IRL? Also, will a 3/4 ct diamond have a shorter profile because it won't be as tall as the one they are probably showing online?
4. Does anyone have multiple IRL shots of both rings with >1 ct diamonds?
Thank you for any input, your advice is always amazing!
