Hi All,

I am newbie here. I am trying to get engaged to my love of my life and hoping you guys could help. So James Allen and a local store is in my last list to select a ring from. Could You guys please pictures of James Allen rings. So I could get an idea of what I am getting at.

Also, I am so scared of doing this online...I am going with a white gold ring. How do you guys service you rings once bought from online. Mailing back and forth is not secure I feel.

Thanks so much in advance

I have the JA common prong, 1.9 mm in white gold, for my sapphire. See here. Love it - JA was a pleasure to work with the entire time. Which setting are you considering?

ETA: This setting on the JA website

Hello,

My ering is a custom setting from JA (they have some silmilar settings on their website, but I just made a few adjustments.. The link is here.

JA was fabulous to work with and I plan to use them again for future purchases. Good luck!

Link to setting that I am thinking . I am thinking of doing this as the center stone link. It is a 0.51 Carat G-VS1 Hearts & Arrows Ideal Cut Round Diamond. Any suggestions would be appreciated and please comment on my selection.

Thanks

wow what a nice ring.....really happy to see the rings made by JA. So any comment on how you guys handle the services after buying?

I really like the setting you have chosen Wow...it''s a timeless setting and very beautiful

I am also considering this from white flash, it is a 0.51 ct G VS1 Round. Any ideas would be appreciated

Both settings are beautiful. The Whiteflash setting looks like it has a surprise diamond under the center stone, which I like.

You might want to start a separate post title "local service for WF or JA rings?" or something like that to get feedback from people on how they work this out. You might want to post this in the Rocky Talky forum.

Also, if you''re interested in feedback on either of the stones you have linked, post a thread in Rocky Talky.

But it looks to me like you''re doing great! Wonderful choices.

I have a JA ring. It was made by Danhov but JA sold it to me and set the stone. They were very easy to work with.

As far as upkeep I haven''t had any problems. I have it cleaned when looking in a local jewelry store and I clean it often at home. I did have my local jeweler check the security of the stones recently. All OK.

And as you can see I have some little stones in the setting...

sarap333 and stone hunter,

Thank you so much for your comments and hints.

Hey Wow,

I usually have my ring cleaned at my local jewelry store. It hasn''t been a problem yet. If I had a diamond in there, I would just pop it into the ultrasonic every week - with my concave cut sapphire, I''m a little hesitant, so I have the store do it.

Like I said, JA was lovely to work with. I also looked at that setting (the thin channel set) for my stone. In the end, I went with the common prong because I wanted as really thin shank...and the channel is 2.5 mm, versus the 1.9 mm for the common prong. I think both are lovely though, and I kind of want that same setting for my larger oval tourmaline.

beautiful ring stone hunter :)

I just noticed that something with my setting on my new ER was not correct. I called JA and they seemed happy to have me send it back to have it fixed. I am hoping that everything will work out smoothly, as I''m also considering a new stone.

My only advice with JA is that once you find the stone you want, make sure you talk to the gemologist directly, as my expectations for my stone got muddled in translation. I told my customer service person that I didn''t want to see any kind of inclusion without a loup, and was told that she talked to the gemologist who said it was "eye clean from every angle." I can see the inclusions in my vs2, which isn''t common and is why i didn''t think I''d be able to see them.

They are very nice and easy to work with, however they take a while to call you back if you contact them.

I''ll update you on how it all turns out in the end. I''m hoping it will be smooth sailing.

I second the whole making sure information don’t get lost in translation between the rep and other people within JA. Info do get lost easily.
