James Allen and Ideal-Scope Images delima

Hello all, Need some advice. I''ve found a setting at James Allen that my girlfriend loves and all I need is to find the right Asscher. Since I want to get the setting from JA, I was hoping to get a Asscher from them also.

While searching for the right Asscher, I''ve requested and received 3 Ideal-Scope images from them, but none that caught my fancy. I found another Asscher and again requested an Ideal-Scope, but this time I was told that there is a limit of 3 Ideal-Scope images per customer and her could not provide another to me. Does this sound right? Is this the norm when looking for a diamond. How is one supposed to find the right diamond if JA wont proivide IS?

any advice would be appreciated.

Switch vendors and see if they can get a similar setting.
gog would be my choice for asschers.

Ditto. GOG also does a great job on custom settings.

You can also see about buyign the setting from JA and asking GOG to set it.

You could always approach James Allen about proactively paying for making additional ideal scope images available to you. At a minimum, in terms of man-hours, you could understand they are incurring a real cost, so I think this is only reasonable.

Ordering in stones and having the pictures, sarins et.al. taken costs them money so I’m not surprised that they put a limit on how much of it they’re willing to do for ‘free’. Many of the appraisers on the list at the top of the page can do the same thing for you although this would be at your expense instead of the dealer’s.

I''m with Storm on this one -- switch vendors for this cut. GOG has more info on their site and you really need to see the images. JA is a great vendor, but you''ll spend a lot less time and effort at GOG with this cut. They will also arrange to call stones in for you if you can''t find what you want on their site (I think it''s 3 stones and you pay for shipping and then the cost is subtracted from your final purchase -- something like that). I''m not sure how many asschers WF has on their site, but they also provide more image info than JA.
