JA sells diamond in the rough?

it's very interesting that James Allen decided to offer rough diamond jewelry. It used to be other obscure sites that offer such services and products and the issue is that they don't provide enough pictures or information for the consumer to visualize the outcome of the jewelry piece.

Does the HCA work for these?

I like a handful of their settings, stones aren't for me...

Diamonds in the Rough is a brand. These rings are all pre-made by them. Most likely JA agreed to partner with them and show the rings on their site without carrying the inventory. If a ring is sold thru JA they get a percentage of the profits. More or less acting as a dropshipper. I highly doubt that JA physically has all of thse rings sitting in their inventory, it would have been a huge $$$$$ investment.
Very common practice in online retailing.

True but I found it strange for JA sense it seems to clash with the rest of their website. , its just that it surprised me that when i think of JA I dont think of randed pre set e rings.

Well it seems Diamonds in the Rough has been pounding the pavement sending celebrities free rings to be seen in. I wonder how many sales they actually make. I certainly don't think many real life women are sporting these as engagement rings. Very trendy item for young women who are into the celebrity scene. That said some of them are kinda cool and if I was given one to wear for publicity purposes I wouldn't turn it down. So if the company wants a 48yr old suburban spokemodel they can send one my way :)) But I would not purchase one.

JA hasn't sold name brand premade before-at least to my knowledge. But I'm not surprised JA has decided to do this. They are competing to become "The Engagement Ring Leader" Why not carry a brand that is creating a buzz. I feel it's a smart business move on their part.

I think its smart on both of their parts. Give DITR more exposure to people actually looking for e rings, not just girls flipping though Lucky magazine.

Would i wear one if they sent me one, yes. Would I want it as an e ring? no. But i do think there is a market for people who want something very different, but still want to say they have a diamond. I cant see a lot of regular PSer getting one, but are there people out there? sure.

I really like some of their settings though, this with a kite set assher or cushion or something? pretty cool, and thats coming from someone who wants sparkle. so if there are people out there who dont care, then there you go.

on a side note, i really love the 3d view for settings, i wish they would do that for all JA's settings
