Hi, I’m currently searching for a diamond to replace the moissanite in my halo setting and I’m looking at lower colored diamonds. I personally like warmth in a diamond but I don’t want it to look yellow or show a ton of contrast from the melee. I found an ideal cut, VS2 L colored diamond in my budget, but I’m wondering if an L will for sure be too warm for my setting? The melee is G/H color.

I personally wouldn’t love the contrast— I think it will make the stone look warmer, but if you like the warmer look, it might work for you.

I think it is too much difference. I think you could go I color, even perhaps J in a really well-cut stone. But beyond that I think the color difference will be discernible.

That ring is still so very stunning! I would not go beyond a J (high - medium), & in your case, most likely an I. I have a J with H melee & not much of a contrast, a teeny tiny bit but not enough that people would think I bought a cape coloured stone. The one thing I do find is that my halo sparkles like no tomorrow & hard to see what colour they actually are. LOL This may be the case for you. ** fingers crossed** And then of course like I usually say, move your hand enough, no one will see the colour of the centre diamond. LOL LOL
