Hello!

I recently got a GIA certified Pear shaped J color 2.77 carat diamond. Outside and in rooms with natural like there is little, slight hue of yellow, but in one room (i guess that has less light) there is a strong yellow hue. Is this normal?

What types of lighting is used to determine color when certified?

What lighting causes the diamond to look its most yellow hue? or less yellow hue?

Thanks!!

What color are the walls/surroundings in the room where the diamond appears more tinted?

Ditto, I have an F colored diamond and in the rooms in my house with yellow walls the stone looks slightly yellow. Lighting makes a huge difference as well. GIA uses certain lights that don''t interfere with color.

The walls in the room are yellow just like Kcoursolle. I see how this makes a difference.

my stone is a 2.71 J that almost always looks either *almost* clear or antique/ivory... but when i go into jewelry stores with their "special" lighting my diamond always looks very yellow. Sure, lots of fire, but very yellow. Dunno why. Mine also looks very yellow in my dining room where the walls are dark pine.

Incandescent light seems to be more yellow. I work in flourescent light and my diamond is super white under that light.
