I''ve been naughty!!

I bought a three-strand Akoya necklace today. They're quite a bit dearer than the previous Akoya's I bought from the same shop, but the quality is far superior: the lustre is absolutely *amazing*, the nacre top notch and they're beautifully smooth, blemish-free and wonderfully perfectly round.

AND I also bought a multi-colour Tahitian and SS pearl necklace. I was going to save up for a couple of years and purchase another strand from another shop, which is AAA quality, slightly larger, but a lot more expensive!! So, I bit the bullet today and put the deposit down for this one instead. It is still quite a lot of $$$$, but I don't see that many of them around of these colours and this kind of quality; and I've wanted one sooooo badly and for so long now, I couldn't resist!!

Anyway, I'm picking up the Tahitian/ SS necklace next week. Will post pics and specs of both necklaces then.

I'm planning to visit in January with my niece who's visiting from the US. Perhaps we could do it then if it's not too soon for you. I understand you'll have just come back and may still be busy unpacking and settling back in. If not then, then perhaps another time? I'm always going back to SG!

That is my finger but not my ring....it''s a fantasy ring...haha...I tried it on at MS Rau last year in New Orleans - 9.70-carat oval flanked by two 1ct each trillions, not that you can see the trillions. Never thought I''d say this but it''s actually too big for my ring finger with all the coverage that it gives. Here''s the full hand shot for your viewing pleasure.

Hahaha...Phoenix, I should have know you''d say it was not too big. But it really is, my middle finger (left hand) is around a 6.5 and it could barely hold that ring. Imagine it on you teeny fingers?

Good luck with the upcoming surgery, SB. I know what you mean about being anxious. It's soooooo exciting though, isn't it? I think my fave piece of jewellery is earrings. Something abt having a really really blingy pair that really lights up your face. I just really don't think I look the same without my fave studs on my ears, LOL!

Hmmm...I'd go martini's in a hearbeat!! I posted a thread last night regarding having had a pair of bezelled studs before and I *completely* forgot that they were bezelled, LOL!! Can you imagine that?! Must be something about the bezels that block the light, that render the studs not as sparkly and as exciting as they could otherwise be.

I did indeed have ACA K studs. I have to be really honest with you. Although they were 1.7ct each (ie. quite a bit smaller than my present 2.3-ish each studs), I could clearly see the tint on the sides and even face up, quite a bit too in certain lightlings. They were ACA's and I was still really bothered by the tint, hence the upgrade to J. Even though my J's are quite a bit bigger, I still don't see the colour face-up. HUGE difference, actually.

Can't wait to see your new studs...I know it's a few months away, but would still love to see pics when you get them or even of prospective stones when you're looking......

I think only SS, you and I post fairly regularly. Sparkles doesn't post very often, but I suspect she lurks now and again!

I see loads of Singaporeans from time to time on PS, logging in to seek help but they don't seem to stay or to post frequently. Hopefully, when we post the GTG thread, Sparkles, SS and others will see it and join us.
