I finally have a diamond on hold after drooling over other's diamonds and reading other threads asking for advice. I would like to know what your opinion is on this diamond. Thanks so much in advance for taking the time to review and comment.

Here is the link to the diamond I am about to purchase....where is the nervous smiley?

Fab...nice diamond!

I am trying to find the right diamond and I am all over the place...where else did you look? Why did you go with GOG? Why that diamond? Was the ASET pic mandatory for you??

Thanks from someone battling with where to buy

I didn''t really look anywhere else because I was trying to stay local. However, GOG isn''t a hop, skip, and a jump away so I was prepared to start shopping online with the guidance of PS members.

I''ve window shopped online at Whiteflash as well. My priority was to get a diamond with an Ideal cut so I could maximize the sparkle. Becaause of that, ASET images were mandatory for me.

To minimize the hassle, however, I tried to keep my window shopping to vendors with lifetime trade up policies, a reasonable inspection period, and access to ASET images and AGS reports. Regarding lifetime tradeups, I feel like if you''re not willing to take the diamond back, why should I want it?

Where do you live BTW?

Looks like a real beauty to me.

I am working with someone at WF. I am looking at a Pricess with EX to Ideal cut. With that said..I guess I need the ASET hey? I found a nice diamond at Blue Nile but cant get a ASET pic.

That''s a nice pick Fabienne, it should be really pretty. Sorry if you''ve already mentioned it and I missed it, but how are you planning to set it?

As far as a nervous smilie? I like to use this one...

Beautiful stone! I can''t imagine buying a princess without pictures...you picked a winner!

Looks like you picked a winner!

Hi fabienne!

It was a pleasure to serve last night and I must say ... hubby is a quick study.

When we got to the practical observation, before I could finish my sentence he very quickly observed and pointed out the visual differences between our GOG Signature Princess cut (which you have on hold) and the GIA Ex/Ex with the AGS "1" in light performance. I''m impressed.

Kindest regards,

That''s a beautiful stone. Nice choice!

Great choice! It is beautiful. What setting are you putting it in? You must show pictures of the final product.

Girlie-girl and Craving Diamonds....I have a love-hate relationship with the setting.

I have a Zales three stone e-ring that I have come to appreciate it over the past few weeks. Even though its not what I would have chosen back then and falls a little short of what I would like now, I''ve grown attached to it. Since I can''t really afford a new setting anyway right now, I just decided to upgrade my stones. The diamond above is the center stone. Hopefully within the next month (before I give birth) I''d like to upgrade the sidestones as well. That way, I can stare at my diamonds while on house arrest aka maternity leave..lol.

If I pick up my ring tomorrow, then I will attach a picture.

Then, hopefully when I get a new setting in about 4 years or so, I''ll reset those stones.

Love the name by the way Craving Diamonds...some days, I literally feel like I CRAVE diamonds.....mmmmm....can''t explain it..I just do.

Jonathan

It was a pleasure working with you! It''s actually what I wanted from the onset, so everything worked out for me.

PSers...I took my husband to GOG with me, just so he can have the experience of purchasing a diamond from a reputable source. I also thought that it might help him understand my obsession with PS as well. I''ve been lurking for weeks on end, trying to teach myself how to read various types of reports and watching videos by Jonathan on this and that. Well, we get there and I couldn''t figure out how to use the loupe and I couldn''t really see a visual difference in the DiamondDock (or whatever its called). My husband caught on right away and frankly all my "research" didn''t amount to much last night. How embarassing and shameful...lol!

Thanks for all the compliments! All your hard work paid off!
