I have not posted since I got engaged but still owe a lot to this board. I cannot imagine what would of happend if I had not stumbled upon pricescope. Obviously she said yes and we are getting married in Newport RI this October. As far as the ring goes there is really nothing to say. She loves it, although she jokes that I should of got a smaller one. People from everywhere freak out when they see it. We were in Tiffany''s in Maui and the manager could not believe Mark Morell''s work. I could go on and on but I owe it to pricescope!

I do have a question pertaining to bands. She is not keen on the idea of getting a wedding band. She thinks it might be overkill and is just not sure if this is the right way to go. If she does go with a band should she just have Mark make a matching Pave band? Here are some pics to refresh you all.

i think i agree...i''m not sure that beauty needs a band. it is such a work of art and deserves to stand on it''s own. don''t feel like you need anything more.

we''ll since there are server issues I can''t see the pics

. But I''m sure the final pics are stunning and can''t wait until things get back to running

. As for a wedding band, I''d have mark make one to match if she thinks she''d wear it on the same hand, even if only for special occasions. Otherwise, many women opt to wear their weddings bands on their right hands and she could go for a differnt style.

I just looked up your ring on an old thread-utterly amazing

Hi CD...

Glad to hear your finace liked it, and that you get compliments on it.

Remember when I mentioned to you that Mark''s work rivaled what you see in the 5th Ave stores?

That is a ring that will never be forgotten.

That ring is hard to miss alright

Can it be worn safely with a wedding band? You may want to ask Mark if not done already, because there seems to be some understanding that paved bands should not rub against other rings or else pave flies sooner or later. Sure enough, sets of w-band and e-ring both with paved shanks are sold all the time and no one tells ya'' until you ask

Anyway, I''d think many women can ''pull off'' allot of diamond snow on their hands 24/7, but I am definitely not one (thinking of a glove on top or something

). So... this is biased...

I would definitely have a matching band made by the same guy if anything but a simple & thin and discrete platinum band is ever desired near (or better said under) that beauty. Some may feel strongly about what a wedding band means, and I can easily imagine a 2mm platinum stripe getting completely lost near the ring for better or worse. The matching paved one could be there for the right time. My point - if anyone could make a match, it would be MWM and preferably now rather than in 10 years when their style will have changed. And matched rings have a ''right'' feel about them.

My (enthusiastic!) 2c

Congratulations again for the wonderful ring and the happy times that go with it!

Its good to see all of you, I will call Mark tomorrow. What kind of wedding band should I get?

i''d go with a matching 3 sided pave, but i''m a matchy matchy gal when it comes to that style. I think you might be able to get away with a one sided pave band, where the diamonds are just on top, that way the diamonds won''t be touching diamonds, only metal. I''d ask mark and see what he recommends
