I do though. It''s really gorgeous. It''s going to be difficult to set because I''ll have to protect the corners and need it to look wider so it''ll have to have a halo of some description.
ETA My photos look a bit grey and don''t show the warmth and the red tones of the Spinel but I promise they''re there and the Vendor''s photo is exactly what I see.
LD - when I first saw the vendor photo, I thought it had been shopped, because it was so bright. I am so impressed by your photos. The stone is gorgeous!
LD,
I''m so glad it has strong red fluor, and it appears to be a nice hot pink stone. The one I was telling you about, that I bought and prompty returned (the same day actually), had way more of a brown modifier, no fluor, and went extinct in the sunlight. It reminded me more of a garnet than a Mahenge. I''m glad to see that this stone has exceeded your expectations, and I am looking forward to what you''re going to do with it as far as setting it. Enjoy!!
That''s a beautiful pink one! When it comes to setting ideas, I think you might consider something similar to the setting in THIS thread, cause that N/S semi bezel would protect the corners while still showcasing the stone (I know the setting in question is a silver one, but I''m suggesting just using the same setting technique, not replicating the design completely).
This is definitely going to go into a ring with a halo to make it wider on the hand because it''s a little on the small side for me. I think I''m going to go with corner claws to protect the tips of each corner (but not bezel mr ma re because that would be too heavy for this little one and I don''t want to run the risk of dampening it''s glow at all).
I wonder if it''s possible to have a little UV light built into the shank because the fluor just makes me breathless!
If anyone has seen an LOGR that they think would work can you post up photos please? I think I''ll need an 8x6 setting customised back to an 8 x 5.
