enjoying the snow day - work was canceled for today by yesterday afternoon, which shocked me.... anyway, my neighborhood is such a winter wonderland this morning. I think we only got about 7 or 8 inches, but it''s certainly blowing a lot, and we''re supposed to have the best visibility in the area right now. I don''t even want to think about what it must be like in the rural areas.

Sizzle, how is it getting around town?
I think the roads are fine, people are a bit drama filled. Then again, I don''t have to go into the "country". Now it''s snowing AGAIN... gotta love the midwest!

hahaha there''s always drama at the first bad storm isn''t there? I think people forget how to drive in it at first or something. Um, der, drive slower? If it''s not ice and it''s not blowing 100 miles an hour, it''s not horrible. That''s what 4 wheel drive is for.

Oh wow, that is a crazy snow storm!!! Here in MI, it''s REALLY windy (like 50 mph) and super cold. It snowed last night, but it didn''t stick.

I am envious of your snow - it''s so pretty! I live in Ohio and we got very light flurries (almost too scant to see) and so of course nothing stuck. A little closer to Cleveland, where I am originally from, we would get a ton of snow and that was only on the edge of the snow belt. Your cat is so cute! My kitties love to lie on the back of one of my sofas and are succeeding in completely mashing it down.

Oh my goodness, I''m in Madison, WI and we got 18-19 inches last night!!! I took pictures but I can''t find the cord to get them on the computer.

UW classes were cancelled for only the second time in 40 YEARS... and it took us hours to dig out the driveway today, even with the help of our (fairly lame) snowblower.

Yeesh. I could have done without the snow day this week, but no one I know went to work today!

My corporate office (I work for an energy company) is in Madison so I thought if they closed the Madison general office, they''d close the Cedar Rapids office. No dice. Neither office closed. I took my last vacation day of the year. I must say, lurking on Pricescope all day was pretty nice.

I can''t believe they didn''t close the corporate office! Everything was closed! Well... almost everything, I guess.

Good on you, taking a vacation day, though :) I''m currently a temp, so I don''t get paid for staying home... and I really had to! There was no way I''d have made it 25 miles... probably wouldn''t even have made it out of the neighborhood!

So far only wind here in the Michigan thumb. Could you other Michiganders hold off on the snow wishes until after December 29th? That''s when we leave for Florida.

Oh I am so jealous - please keep pushing it East until it gets to the middle of the UK. Thank you
