I made this pendant yesterday, using Piece of Ithaca Peak turquoise from Arizona.
Also, jewelry making ruins your nail job....just sayin'!

That is spectacular! And I love how the mounting picks up the gray/silver in the stone. What are those inclusions?

EDIT: nvm -- I see (read) that it's pyrite. Just perfect in that frame and the compositional asymmetry!

Yes, I should have mentioned that it's pyrite! Ithaca Peak turquoise usually contains some pyrite. Its a very interesting variety of turquoise. Morenci turquoise also is known for its pyrite inclusions.
So much turquoise, so little time:lol-2:
I'm very glad you like it!

Thank you!
Yes, I like it, too. I have seen some turquoise cabs that have more pyrite than blue.....it's really pretty!

Thanks Catmom! I had a hard time deciding what to do with this stone.

Oh it's beautiful :kiss2:
Wear in good health and bluelicious joy!

Thanks missy! Blue has always been my favorite color.......

Oooooo, that's funky! Very nice design!

You create such beautiful jewelry. The pyrite reflections and the color of the turquoise is really gorgeous.

if you lived next door id be visiting (with coffee and cake etc) to see what was new every day, plus id have trying all these wonderful creations on !

If you and I lived next door, we would be making jewelry together everyday!
And eating lots of cake! What fun we would have!

Gosh somehow I missed this one in your fabulous turquoise jewels hit parade. I love Ithaca Peak! Sometimes it can look a deep lavender blue.

I especially like how the silver balls in the setting echo the shape and glimmer of the pyrite in this piece. You really found its soul.

Thank you for the nice compliments:kiss2:
Sometimes I stare at a stone for days brainstorming all kinds of elaborate settings, when the most simple design really suits it best.

This piece of Ithaca Peak kinda has that purplish blue look, with a tiny bit of pyrite. Try to ignore the glare on the stone! I made this ring last year.
