Well, Saturday was interesting to say the least. We went to the mall (where Tiffany's is
) to walk around and stop by Tiff's to pick up my Blue Book favorite SA was holding for me. Walking past Hyde Park, there were some engagement rings in the window to which I stopped to look while S keeps pulling me along. "Hey! What are you doing? I was trying to look!" I tell him as he pulls me past the window. "Why would you be interested AT ALL in looking at those rings when you want one from somewhere else..."
(true) Ok..so we keep on walking.
Later, I asked him if we could go 'play' in Tiffany's while I pick up my Blue Book. Once we get by the store, he takes me by their windows and we gaze at the displays. (He was actually interested) Once inside we took a couple of rounds around the silver jewelry. We walk to the other side of the store and S decides to sit down because he is tired. Favorite SA was there but was making a sale. (-->a little jealous<--) because she was making the sale to a couple. And she said "Isn't this EXCITING!" to them. lol! Anyway, another SA assits me and I told her that favorite SA was holding a Blue Book for me. So she goes and gets it.....then while she is gone S comes over and I told him I was waiting for the book. He looked in one of the cases and I saw his face turn beet red. He looked like he was having a panic attack. "I gotta get out of here! I'll be outside" he tells me and leaves very quickly. WTF?
Ok, so that sorta hurt.
I don't understand why he sort of 'freaked out' a bit and had to leave. So the SA brings me the book and I tell her I wanted to see the RB with Tapered Baguettes (dream ring #2) again because its been on my mind a lot lately and I needed to see it again. So I looked at a 1.10ct beauty
(this is one of FF's favorite settings for me) So I had it on for about 8 minutes just checking it out (because the last 2 times I tried it on, I didn't have it on for very long and didn't really look LOOK at it. So I asked her if she thought the Novo band would go with it (last time another SA told me they don't go together...) so this SA said she thought it might look 'too busy'
I don't have a clue why. Anyway, she let me try them out together. They looked good but while having these rings on, I realized that I have very short fingers lol. Literally, the space between my knuckles on my ring finger where an engagment and wedding band should sit isn't very long at all
(No wonder S tells me I have little hands lol) With this engagement ring and wedding band on, there was hardly any space left!!!! I don't know why I didn't notice this before when I've tried on engagement rings with wedding bands.
Anyway...lol
I get out of the store and tell S I tried on that ring. I told him he has the MOST EXCELLENT taste in rings and I really DO love the RB with Tapered Baguettes! (because he's the one who pointed out this setting in the past) so he tells me "I told you...you don't have anything to worry about. I know my stuff!"
That made me happy. I wasn't sure if I was IN LOVE with this setting before, though I thought it was beautiful and would have loved to have it. But I really do LOVE this setting after really looking at it!!! But then the booger goes on to tell me that I really shouldn't look at rings right now because "it wastes the SA's time."
How can I be wasting their time when its their job? If it's something we are going to possibly someday purchase!!! He told me "It's like going to a car dealership and test driving a car and telling the SA 'yeah, its nice...but I'll come back in 2 years when I'm ready to purchase.'"
So then I'm thinking this isn't fair! Now he doesn't want me looking at the rings or something? I told him again that I'd like us to both look together in the future at the rings with wedding bands because it makes a huge difference. He seems to think that is a good idea. I told him that an engagement ring might look really nice by itself but not good with any kind of wedding band. I told him I guess I just worry about it because I start to thinking about the settings we like and then I start to overthink everything. I second guess everything. I've got to stop! But after this trip to Tiffany, I think this should hold me over for a while. I really only make it out to Tiffany about 2-5 times a year...
So then I started thinking in my head Saturday night. I remember him saying "I'll come back in 2 years when I'm ready to purchase...I'll come back in 2 years when I'm ready to purchase"
Then I remember a conversation about a general timeline we discussed back in the summer and he said a good time to get engaged/married... "28 seems like a good age." (we are 27 now) Then yesterday he goes and tells me "It's about time for you to come be with me
" (marry him) lol That boy is currently driving me mad! lol
So.........while thinking about the engagement ring I tried on and what wedding bands would go with it, I photoshopped every wedding band Tiffany has that I would be interested in. I was going to make a poll thread to ask what everyone thinks but I currently can't seem to make a poll. lol! I'll post a link here once I start it.....

I think if he''s going in with you thats a very good sign you wont be waiting 2 years !!!
