I got home from Sydney on 19 Nov and he proposed the very next day!
As some of you know, I had a fall-out with FI 4 months ago, which ended with us breaking off our engagement and agreeing to start fresh and make everything that went wrong in our relationship right. Over the past 4 months, things improved tremendously between the 2 of us and I started thinking that maybe he''ll re-propose very soon after I get back from Sydney. Well, it happened SOONER than I expected!
Before I left Sydney, we agreed to go for dinner at a surprise venue (chosen by him) to exchange early Xmas presents after I''m back. Since I was the one who suggested it, I didn''t suspect a thing. The afternoon of our dinner, when he was putting our camera into his bag, I noticed a "ring box bulge" in his bag and pointed it out. He quickly rearranged the things in his bag to hide it, and even managed to convince me that it''s my Xmas present''s pendant box. On hindsight, that was SO naive of me!
It turned out that he planned for a dinner + ride on the Singapore Flyer, which is the largest ferris wheel in the world (until they complete a bigger one in London). I enjoyed the ride, still not suspecting a thing.
When our car reached the top, he announced, "Dear, we at the top of the world!". I was so thrilled, I gave him a big hug + kiss. When I let go of him, he was already holding an open ring box in his hand and said, "Dear, now that we''re at the top of the world, will you marry me?" I was so shocked, my first reaction was like OMG, where did that come from?? I can''t remember what happened next, but I said yes, of course!
