I bought my Pave diamond e ring from WF. I love it and it's gorgeous! but I found there's an issue. After wear it for few days. it's scratching my pinky finger. I injured my pinky finger when I was a child, so my finger is curved. I dont know if that's the reason that I can feel the scratch...

Will I get used to it? The skin is turning red after the scratch :(

Your ring is beautiful, but ouch! Have you contacted WF to let them know? Perhaps there is a way they can smooth the metal to reduce the irritation. It is possible it could be the diamonds, not the metal, which is causing the irritation. I have pave rings and they can sometimes cause minor irritation to my other fingers if I wear them too much. I make sure to take them off before bed and before doing activities where I will be using my hands a lot. Doing this can help save your finger from irritation and prevent damage to your ring.

My BGD pave ring did the same to me (but not quite as sore looking as your pinky). I had to start sleeping in it to get my finger used to it. For the longest time I took it off at night but my finger never got used to it that way.

Thank you so much for all your advice! I guess I might just take it off when i am sleeping and doing activities. I was hoping I can wear my ring all the time

Do you have a loupe that you can check out the shank with? You might try wearing it the other way
around and see if it irritates your middle finger or does no matter which way you put it on it always
bothers your pinky?

I tried it. It only bothers my pinky. WF did a good job with smooth the metal. I think any kind of pave ring might cause the irritation to my pinky
I should have thought of this before choosing a setting... but I will keep trying! Hopefully, my pinky will get used it lol

Yep, might have to build up a little thicker skin on the pinky...oh how we suffer for our jewels!:))

It is a lovely ring!

Ouch! Poor little pinky. I always take my rings off when I sleep and do activities in the house. Hopefully giving your pinkly a break from it's beautiful but irritating neighbor will help some.

I know.. sacrifice for beauty lol
But my husband thinks I should just change it to solitaire setting. what do you guys think? X(

I think if the problem is aggravated by the curve in your finger, from the accident, I would be inclined to change it to a solitaire. I adore your setting - the legato pave? I also think there's no need to suffer for a beautiful look when there are so many lovely solitaires around.

My wife had this dilemma a while back about what type of ring did she want. After trying on some settings with pave on the sides, she gave up and decided on halos or solitaires because of the irritation factor. Then again, the pave on that setting she tried on went down quite a fair bit on the shank.

Switch to a three stone ;)
No reason to put your finger through the torture.
Also though, you shouldn't wear your ring all the time. It can get damaged. Housework, yard work, weightlifting , showering, sleeping. Not a great idea. I know some people could he sentimental and think it sweet to wear they're ring all the time. But you have to be practical too

Oh and also, how often do you clean it. My husband wears a bulgari zero and if he forgets to take it off when he's baking he sometimes gets butter or other stuff on it and it can give his finger a rash if he's not careful. Maybe since you're wearing all the time the dirt or stuff in the pave is irritating your skin?

Personally I'd make the switch, especially since it's something you'll be wearing everyday.

I would switch to a solitaire; I would hate to have my pinky irritated all the time. Very pretty diamond and ring.

Years ago, when we got married, the fashion was for textured wedding bands. It rubbed the 2 fingers either side. I wore it for 3 days, then took it off and never wore it again. Your ring is beautiful, but if it's causing a problem, then the suggestion of a halo or plain solitaire seems like a good plan.

Thank you everyone!!! I will consider to switch my setting. But it's really hard to tell WF that I have to send back to the ring again. The first time when I received the ring. It was too loose, so I only tried it on for once then I sent it back to resize...

Please do send it back, within the allowed time period, if you think the problem won't resolve itself. This wouldn't be a problem to Whiteflash as ultimately satisfied customers are good for their business.

I have this same problem with my very sensitive skin, allergies, and pave rings. It never got better for me, so I just very rarely wear my pave bands. The only diamond band I can wear daily is my Danielle bezel band from Whiteflash.

I would suggest contacting Whiteflash right away to let them know you are having issues but will see if they resolve, trying to wear it to see if it resolves (maybe try putting some cortisone cream on your finger to see if that helps since this looks like dermatitis to me), but if it doesn't resolve within a few days, think about resetting.

HI:

Lovely ring.

Have your worn any plain/smooth rings on that finger or other rings at all? How do you know that "any" ring/design/metal content won't cause a contact/issue/problem?

cheers--Sharon

Could you have the pave modified so that it only goes 1/3 or 1/2 the way around so it doesn't rub your pinky finger as much?

I have been trying to wear the ring for more than a week. I gave up! The irritation is not getting better :(
I called WF yesterday to let them know that I want to switch a different setting. They will help me with returning and exchanging!!!

Had anyone got solitaire ring from WF? Any recommendation?

Thank you!!!!

There are a number of options

- WF can help you find the same setting or nearly the same without pace

- you could do channel set diamonds which shouldn't cause this issue

- you could do settings with some pave on the basket or prongs (Vatche has several)

What's your budget?

Would you like the same setting without the pave? Maybe they could modify your setting to remove the pave, or suggest one that's very similar but without pave.

A few suggestions from WF:

Full of Surprises - a bit of pave on the head instead of the shank: https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...f-surprises-solitaire-engagement-ring-477.htm

Vatche Caroline, same idea: https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...e-solitaire-engagement-ring-by-vatche-251.htm

Legato Sleek Line (your ring looks like it might be the Legato with pave? If not, this one looks similar from the top, 4 prong, pinched shank near the stone, etc.): https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...-sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-728.htm
