Since we’ve returned from our trip, and our deposit returned on the ring we found in Barbados, our search resumes for a 2+ct cushion cut yellow diamond.

Looking for a FLY or FY colour that “glows”. Trying on multiple rings you can definitely tell the difference between those that truly glow vs. an ordinary yellow.

Pictured here is the FY one we put a deposit on…

Compared to another one I liked (FLY) pictured below it just didn’t have the same vibrance as the first one… it was just much warmer I guess.

I’m not a big fan of the Leibish ring, just not my style. I have reached out to DBL but so far he has only shown me one lab diamond.

I really want a cool yellow, not warm. Something like this colour but in a cushion or radiant cut…

That's a glowy yellow - way cool! You'll find it, or it'll find you. I think you made a good decision on the Barbados ring, not compromising on what you want.

Do you have other photos or video? I’ve seen people comment before that these floating diamond photos are not the best for assessing diamonds. Resting between fingers or on a dark background is better.

I also wonder about saturation as in some photos it looks much less saturated than others. Unsure which is most accurate.
 
I don’t know much about these cuts but those areas you circled are noticeable and appear less saturated than the rest of the stone. Have you seen it in person? How does notice compare to other offerings?

I’m in Canada so no, I haven’t seen in person. I’m still waiting to hear back from DBL too. Not going to settle though, so if it takes time then it takes time
 
UPDATE: So I have stumbled on quite possibly the most perfect diamond... and by sheer coincidence. I feel like I found a 4-leaf clover!

Will post the diamond shortly, just protecting myself from possible lurkers.

Gorgeous! Lovely even color and nice even faceting. And even with a setting less than half the other ring you were considering!

Yes! I decided to hire them as well to make my custom setting… it will be very similar to my inspiration photo posted above with 2 cadillac diamonds ~6mm each. 4 weeks for production, maybe sooner.
