Like I said in previous posts, I will probably never be engaged, but I sure do love RESEARCHING!

I came across this Tiffany Legacy Replica Diamond Engagement Ring under the custom page of the Excel website, but with sapphires everywhere...I thought it was stunning. So many people have been asking about sapphires and diamonds...I''m tempted with this beauty. I just wanted to share an idea with people - don''t know why but felt the need to! What do you guys think? I love the gallery view!

Oh my, a sapphire blue halo! Yum!

Don''t wait to be engaged, get your own diamonds! That''s my theory anyhow.

You know - I think that will be my theory too...I just think this ring is perfect...I love it!

Oh yes definitely...I love gifts, but I learned early on that it''s better to buy your own lovely jewelry and you can get as much satisfaction knowing you paid for it with your own hard earned money!

Very pretty!

Aw, I haven't read that, but please don't think/say that.

What few posts I have read of yours make you appear as a very thoughtful, lovely person. I'm sure your match is out there, please don't give up hope.

However, there is nothing wrong with buying baubles along the way either.

Oh, thanks Ellen! No, I have been with my bf for 15 years - he doesn't want to get married, I didn't either for a while, but now I am I think...I know if I really wanted to, he would go with it...maybe. I'm still in school and trying to work on my career and I guess that really hasn't been a priority - but having that commitment would be nice. Many of my friends look at me quite weird because we have been together for so long (which is good, right?) but haven't gotten hitched - high school sweethearts! But I hate the "living in sin" looks I get!

I never knew this combo existed and I was just so pleased to see it! I think it would look nice on my chubby hand!

Well then, whatever will be, will be. And you''ll be all ready should "that day" ever come.

Ellen - I will be more than ready thanks to this site!

! I made no false advertisements! I have been clearly stating my expectations...

I love the Legacy styles, especially with the contrast of either a colored center or a colored halo. I like them with bezels better than prongs for the center stone, as well. This one is quite big for my taste, but I do agree that it is beautiful. You should get it as a RHR if you love it -- after 15 years together you''ve waited long enough for a diamond! I buy all my diamonds (my XH bought my one and only 1/4 ct diamond way back in 1984 -- and at 44 years old now, I don''t feel like waiting around for a man to give them to me. That could be never)!!

I love gifts too, but I started buying jewelry for myself about 2 years ago as well. I am not engaged either (although I hope I will be someday), but I am trying to enjoy my relationship one day at a time and not worry too much about the furture.

I think that is a pretty ring, although the sapphires on that paticular ring are a bit dark for my tastes. But the concept is a very good one and that would be a fun ring to save up for.

I love that sapphire blue halo!

And I''m with the other ladies - go ahead and buy your own diamonds if you want!

Although you have the right idea warning the bf that the diamond size is going up along with your years together, LOL!

I also love bezels and I think that is a major preference of mine. It is a bit big - I think the center stone is 1.80 ct. - mighty I must say... I would be a bit concerned about the height of it. I am a teacher and I wouldn''t want it clanking on everything because I use my hands so much.

You know, I agree with you. My bf bought me 2 pairs of 1/4ct. solitaire earrings (I lost one of the pair so he bought me another pair) from an online vendor. I told him for our 15 year anniversary I wanted an anniversary ring - June 18th was our 15th anniversary and still no ring. I got angry at him, but I figured why be angry? Just get something for yourself. So, I have been researching for myself. I want to research diamonds and purchase one and find a nice setting, etc. Something special for me.

Yeah, if I wait around anymore for him I''d be a skeleton before I got a rock...but ya never know, he may just surprise me...but in the mean time, I''m searching.

You know, for years I was just too busy with going to school (been around 13 years that I have been in college getting various degrees) and I am finishing up my doctorate, so I guess our priorities were elsewhere. I like how things are right now, but sometimes I would like a chunk of rock on my finger...I get the oddest looks from people when I tell them I have been with him for 15 years and he''s still my bf...whatever, I blow it off. I am used to it. I get the same looks from people when I tell them I don''t drink or smoke or whatever.

I too was wondering about those sapphires (I am VERY new to the Colored Stones forum) being a bit dark. Are they a bit too dark meaning the quality or just the aesthetics? Do you think lighter ones would look better?

It''s funny because all of my friends say "Buy the anniversary ring for yourself," but it feels weird saying look at my anniversary ring knowing HE didn''t get it for me...
15.gif
Do you know what I mean? Have any of you ever felt that way? Does it really matter if I buy my own anniversary ring...?

It certainly is.

Yes it''s alright to buy your own anniversary ring -- it''s for YOUR anniversary as much his! I have 3 half-circle eternity bands that I stack together on the middle finger of my left hand. I just love the look of stacked eternities. I bought them myself and I think of the T&Co channel set rounds for my son, another matching band for my daughter, and the middle channel set horizontal baguette band for me! On my RH ring finger is my canary diamond ring that was bought by me in celebration of my strenght to leave a 20-year abusive marriage and start a new life! Jewelry means whatever you want it to mean -- and it can be gifted to you (in which case you might not like what you get) or it can be carefully researched, chosen, and bought by you for you!

I like the ring....very pretty.

Also, I too had to comment on your little dog.....adorable!
