I''ve got a quick question for you.

Isee2 branded diamonds. I''m looking for something in the 9.8 range on the Isee2 machine for performance, and I''ve seen them in jeweler stores, but has anybody ever tested a 9.8 Isee2 diamond under a Brilliancescope, and what would the results be? Three very highs? One high and two very highs? These are for round cuts, naturally.

I''m asking in general, because of course no diamond is the same as another.

It will vary as the measurements are taken under different lighting and one isn''t an indication of the other.

carries Isee2 and has a b-scope as well as the isee2 machine.

Overall they do well but you cant say that a 9.8 isee2 will do such and such on the b-scope.

Interesting.

Man, I''d like to get a Solasfera that pegged a 9.8 on the Isee2 machine... now THAT would be cool. :D

Nothing is impossible.

Being a strong advocate of digital optical technologies, at the same time I''d just caution against analysis paralysis as well. I say this because I''ve seen plenty of Solasfera''s that do score 9.8 as well as those that score 9.5. If there was a visual difference I would eliminate 9.5''s from my buying/recommendations. While it is cool, there is however no visual difference. A 9.8 Isee2 will look identical to a 9.5 Isee2 with Solasfera diamonds.

All the best,

My stone came from GOG and was a 9.8 on the Isee2 and all three categories were in the Very High range on the Brilliant Scope, although one of the three spanned the high end of high to the very high range. I don''t think that is uncommon.

Hi GoodBishop - I purchased a 9.8 ISEE2 from GOG last year, and you got me curious about my B-scope results. (I probably remembered last year, but you forget these things as you go on and do other things with your life, you know).

Anyhow, the B-scope results are Very Highs for White Light and Colored Light, and High for Scintillation (it was on the high side of High). I decided I could live with this.

It is a gorgeous diamond, BTW.

Good Bishop, on the Billiantscope, my ISEE2 diamond scores a Very High in white light and scintillation and is off the Very High in colored light. I love it!!

I admit I''m a math engineer type, and I do understand about analysis paralysis.

It''s the cool factor, really. :)

I understand believe me.

Wait till you start getting into Helium Reports. They show you greater precision in the cutting than an H&A image.

They have a hard time with modified rounds though (like Solasfera) as non contact measuring devices (like Sarin/Helium/Ogi) have a tough time resolving the many other facets.

All the best,

What I REALLY want is a Solasfera, from 1.0 to 1.3 carats, D-G (probably F or G), VVS2-VS2, that perfectly maxes out the Gemex report AND scores a 9.8 on the Isee2 machine.

That''s what I''m searching for.

What can I say, I''m a classic maximizer.

And yes, I am totally splitting hairs here.

My spreadsheet of possible diamonds is maybe 25 long... and over half are from GOG.

Well... all I can say good bishop is “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."
