Is VS2 worth $300 more than SI1?

I'm looking at almost identical diamonds. Basically only the clarity is different. One is SI1 while the other is VS2.

Both are 1.29 ct round hearts and arrows, ideal cut, I color, AGS certified.

The SI1 scored a 1.5 score using the Holloway Cut Adviser

The VS2 scored a 0.9 score using the Holloway Cut Adviser

Price is comparable with the VS2 being $300 more than the SI1. However, the various images provided (ideal scope, aset image, hearts image) for the SI1 diamond shows the inclusions, while the VS2 does not show any inclusions.

Is the VS2 clarity rated diamond worth the extra $300 over the SI1?

IMO I would go with the VS2. No question at all.

The right aset is much cleaner on the VS2 as well.

In this case, yes, I think it's worth it!

I would go with VS2 for clarity and worth.
The right aset is much cleaner on the VS2 as well.

I think they are equally good, the increased obstruction in the SI1 is typical of a 40.9 pavilion particularly with a 34.5+ angle. They are a slightly different flavour and no less beautiful. If you look at Brian Gavin diamonds, I find a much greater proportion cut like this (steeper end of ideal proportions in crown pavilion).

I am sure they are both eyclean, but I'd pay $300 any day to get a VS2. In fact, I'd probably pay more than that. That's a small amount to pay to get higher quality. You're looking at great stones. I'd really put that VS2 on hold because that's a popular size/color combo. In fact, I looked at that stone TODAY for my potential upgrade in diamond studs, but I went with another pair!

Ok - I'm not going to comment on this because I don't want to thread jack but - don't think we didn't see this, DS!!

And yes - $300 to go up a clarity grade is definitely worth it.
