Please help. I received this antique cushion for evaluation of an online purchase. I’ve been reading enough to think that this may be windowing? It seems like I can see my skin through the center part and I can see black through it when it’s in the box? Is it supposed to be that way? Is this a fatal flaw?

Huge amount of leakage, yes a fatal flaw to appearance and performance.

Thank you. I’m so sad. I can even see this hot pink box through it. IMG_6081.jpeg IMG_6081.jpeg

Hi All!
Important to keep in mind:
Longer shapes tend to have longer facets. When you tilt through a range, it will cause “windowing”.
Also- this is not a valid test if the quality of cut- especially in cases of antique style stones with larger facets.
I assess stones by looking at them under normal conditions as opposed to putting colored paper behind. And I totally understand why consumers might assume these things have meaning based on online research
