Oh my yes, I have seen that setting and quite liked it-back when I first started my search. It still catches my eye. You are a fast finder of photos DT - thanks! I think my problem is that I like too many designs including all of the suggestions on this thread...except the one WF has been working on

if you are not in love with the CAD, do you think you can go to the jeweler that carries many designer lines to try on as many as you can, so you absolutely will know what will work best, Sometimes I find a design online and then try it out IRL, and find that I don''t like it too much on my finger, and vice versa. Don''t settle V- otherwise you''ll reset as many times (hopefully not) as I have in one year.

I think a wide diamond e-ring can be very elegant. I am attaching--I hope--an example of a ring I quite admire. This is the Tiffany Etoile with pave set band. The center stone is set off with a full bezel. Ok, it won't attach. I'll try to attach a link, instead, in a follow up post.

I 2nd the suggestion to high tail it to any jewelry store & try on as many settings as you can. Its amazing how different things look on individual people's hands. Once you get a better feeling for what you like best you'll be better able to communicate it to Whiteflash.

Or -- you might just find a setting you like as is!

ETA: And while you're out -- pick up a couple of Bridal magazines ... just for fun. Looking at the ads & stories on rings will give you a good, broad view of what is "in" right now. Not that you should follow what's "in" ... but it could inform your decision a bit -- or you might find something that screams YOU!

Thanks, D&T. I''m computer

anytime sweetie, and I don''t think you''re confuse at all, it took me a while to get the hang of this paint saving jpeg. thing on PC, now on a MAC- i''ll be the one asking questions

I agree with the others that the shank is too wide and your stone gets lost in all of that.
I also think the CAD design looks dated as is, but you''ve gotten some wonderful suggestions of other rings that have similar styles but with more updated looks.

There are definitely designs out there that have a lot of bling without that heavy bulk.

Have fun finding your perfect design!

ok, we all know i''m a color woman and we all know i don''t like halos...........but i absolutely adore that first ring that started this whole thread way more than any of the others. its elegant, its bold, its beautiful.
i think its stunning and i would wear it. i don''t think the center stone gets lost. if anything, for me it makes the ring look organic.

It''s pricey because it includes a 2 carat diamond in the price. i think that setting would be a lot cheaper.

You are so right Jelly. I think my mind has turned to mush with all my months of diamond setting research. My princess is a WF ACA 1.76. I''m hoping it''s beautiful but beginning to wonder if I''ll ever see it, since I can''t make up my mind re the setting. I so appreciate you and everybody elses comments here. You are so helpful.

I too think that the center stone is getting lost in this setting. And IMO the center stone should be the STAR!! So please go try on a ton of rings in all different styles to figure out what you love and what looks best on your hand.

Good Luck!!
