Hey guys,

I've been reading tons in the past few weeks and it's just about time for me to take the plunge and get the diamond to get along with the ring setting i've chosen. Would love to hear your feedback on how this diamond performs. What I am looking for:

1.22-1.35
G color
VS2+
Symmetry/Polish - Excellent
GIA Excellent - AGS 0
HCA < 2 if possible
$8.7k max

What I found so far:

1.3 ct G VS2
GIA cert
62.5 / 57% Depth/Table
35.5/15.5 Crown angle/height
40.8/43 / Pavilion angle/depth
Girdle - M - ST

Attached is an ideal scope image. The video they gave me looks pretty clean overall, but the ideal scope does seem to show some/more light leakage than is ideal? I'm by no means a pro at this, so any feedback would be really helpful! They are also doing and will be sending an ASET image. Is this diamond worth considering further? Thanks again everybody for the feedback, this website has been a wonderful resource so far!

Are you shopping from JA? It should be pretty but there are better. 40.8 and 35.5 angles are averages. They could range significantly.

If both are quite steep you get leakage of light. You can see areas of pale pink wth reduced light return, but washed out arrows due to uncomplimentary angles. With a 62.5 % depth you are losing diameter to invisible depth of diamond, so the diamond will face up slightly smaller than a more proportional diamond.

If I were you with that budget, I'd drop to H/ SI1 and go for this: crystal by table looks translucent and good chance eye clean, get the JA gemologist to check. Very well priced!

Thank you for the quick reply gm89uk! I received a quote from b2c and am waiting on the aset for the diamond listed above and another ideal scope for a similar spec diamond. I am starting to see that the IS image seems to show some leakage and might not be 100% ideal. I think i am willing to consider an H color but not SI1, I think I want VS2 as a minimum. This is more in the case that I ever need to sell it in the future I think SI1 would be much harder to sell than a VS2 but then again I could be completely wrong?

No the IS is not ideal, and the optical symmetry isn't the best.

Diamonds have a poor resale value regardless of clarity. I do not have experience in selling diamonds, but SI1 stones are among some of the most popular to buy and I do not think it would be anymore detrimental. I'll leave another to comment on this.

https://www.b2cjewels.com/dd/10222727/Round-Diamond-H-Color-VS2-Clarity is another, but in all honesty for the extra carat, JA would be my choice. Both are extremely well cut. I looked at the rest of the inventory in your price range, and couldn't find other great options at B2C

Thank you again for the feedback gm89uk, I decided to go for the b2c 1.24! B2C were pretty easy to deal with overall, wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.
