I have placed a Hold on the Above Diamond, I would be interested in hearing anyone''s thoughts on the 4C''s and all AGS and idealscope image... I am a Noob and just want to make sure it seems like a nice stone.

Traci (WhiteFlash) said it is "Eye Clean" and incredible...

I am using CC - so I got the 3% discount... total = $6,748

Is this a Good Deal? Thoughts anyone?

Thank You in advance :)

Thanks, I wanted to do something for the season that was traditional and recognizeable, but yet unique. This seemed to work.

Numbers look promising but not a H&A stone that is the WF ACA, that is the equivalent of a BN SI stone although BN's H&A is not back up with images just their word for it. Also, BN will not be able to provide any images or has a trade up/buy back policy like WF.

If you are looking at price, then this JA stone looks promising too, 5.7k after PS discount. Not a H&A, but can be trade up or a buy back. Request for an Idealscope image if you are interested.

IMHO, yes.

The BN diamond might be very nice, but without pictures and performance images, such as IS, you can't know for sure. It is listed from a wholesalers database and no one at the company has examined it in person. It may or may not be an outstanding performer. There is a good return policy, but no buyback or upgrade policy.

The WF diamond is a very precisely cut H&A superideal with great service and buyback/upgrade policies to go with it. It has also been examined by the gemologists at WF to make sure it meets their high standards for appearance and performance. The time and effort to do that and take the images does mean a little more cost, but it also means a lot more reassurance that the diamond you are getting is the best of the best.

For some people going with BN is the right choice, for others WF is the right one.

So the real question, is that extra information worth the extra cost to you?

This may sound stupid, and I searched the forum briefly... but what does the H&A diamond deliver exactly? I read the Hearts and Arrows "tutorial" but For example I know the Leo claims to have more facets, etc...

It's not a stupid question at all - I'm interested in hearing the precise answer.

Hearts and arrows are the result of perfectly shaped and aligned facets - perfect optical symmetry. The result is that .... ?

H&A guarantees "exceptional performance" (okay, no it doesn't, but for purposes of this discussion let's assume it does, given that this is certainly true of PS vendors), but you can get exceptional performance from a non-H&A stone too, however you define exceptional performance. We know that H&A does not guarantee a certain "look" (I'm thinking Infinity vs. classic ACAs). Is it just the guarantee that there is little variation in the exact angles 'round the stone, then?

ETA: Werdmaus, you don't need to get a H&A stone to get a stellar performer, if you're on a budget an excellently-cut stone with a good IS will be indistinguishable from a H&A IRL.

I like the first stone. Very similar to the one I have coming from HPD / Wink.
I am sold on the H&A. Went to Jared and compared their H&A (Peerless was the name I believe) vs. the Leo''s and I like the H&A better. Even at Jared they listed the Peerless, their H&A diamonds above the Leo series. The difference was evident in my untrained eyes and viewing.
I did notice the BNile diamond was not an Ideal cut, and that may affect the total brilliance of the diamond.
Good luck
