Hello,

Could anyone please advise if this sounds like a good cut stone (not sure if you can without extra details, but this is what i have...):

Princess 1.22ct, H colour, VVS2,
6.04mm x 6mm x 4.1mm
$5800 (includes setting)
GIA cert

Its actually the dimensions I'm most interested to hear if this sounds like a reasonable face size for the carot weight for Princess cut.

Thanks very much !

Well,........... The depth sounds good and the L/W ratio is good, but, you really need more info for decent opinions about the diamond and/or price. Table %, crown height, girdle thickness, symmetry, all come into play when screening the specs on a Princess cut. And fancies cannot be selected based on stats alone. You really need to see the diamond in person.

Check out the cut charts at www.gemappraisers.com for the guidelines on Princess cuts and ask the Vendor for more info on the diamond you are considering. There is also a Do It Yourself (DIY) cut grading program at the Gem Appraisers website. Just enter the info on diamonds you are considering, the the DIY system will help you grade the overall quality of the make.
