Hi!

I bought non certified diamond which is described as SI2 clarity. It has 2 large inclusions on the edges. Do you thinks this is really SI2 clarity?

I agree with Karl.
THere's no way to tell what we're not seeing in there- but from what we can see, I'd say minimum is I1.
BUT- it's a pleasant I1. Clean in the heart.

Thank you guys for help. Do you think diamond with this kind of inclusions, but smaller can be classified as Si2? For example, how will it be classified if has only this inclusion on the bottom?

There is NO way possible to accurately answer your ( very good) question, without personally inspecting the diamond in question.
Even then, two stones may have imperfections that are ostensibly similar, yet produce remarkably different optics.
So, no simple answers...sorry:wavey:

People may try to answer this question, but clarity grade is specific to the individual diamond; it is not specific to the inclusion type.

It's really hard to tell what I'm seeing but I'd be concerned about fracture at the girdle. An I1 would be pushing I think, but I totally defer to those with more knowledge than I.

Thank you guys!

Is it graded? By which lab? What does it say?
