it's the fluor that's bringing you down.

yeah - I hear ya about the Fluoro - that is the wife''s desire - and after 10 years with a much more modest Ering I am willing to keep trying for a while before I throw in the towel - as for budget not the major issue - with the size, color, and clarity combo for ideal cuts without the med blue we have seen - the numbers work for us -

I saw the 1.8 at GOG - but with it up one on color, up one on clarity, and up in size - it puts it out of our budget when we consider the setting she wants - I would prefer to sink the whole budget in the stone - set it in a solitare and then upgrade the setting in a year or so - but not sure I am able to sell that on the home front - but that makes the most sense to me - but what do I know.....and I appreciate the other suggestions - but it sort of proves my point - they were all up the clarity scale and pushing the budget - so we will keep looking - but suppose something is going to have to give on the intended specs - it is fun searching for that illusive perfect match though...

These aren't exactly what you want...but close.

1.52 G/SI2 with strong flour...but not enough cut info and not an "in house" stone

1.58 F/VS2 with medium flour, good cut info, but not "in house"

Here's a 1.53 F/SI with faint flour:

1.58 G/SI without flour

1.80 G/VS2 with faint flour...probably out of the budget:

budget for the stone - would prefer to stay under $13K - but could move $1000 or a little more up
