Is this prong safe?

Recently back from a local jeweler, my E-ring seems to still have a prong that is questionable in its ability to keep the 2 caret diamond safely in the mounting.

Am I right in being concerned?

Personally, I would take it back and ask them to redo it. Or take it to another local jeweler and show it to them (without saying anything about the prongs, see if they think it’s a big enough issue to bring up.)

It’s probably fine. But if it were me with a 2 carat diamond, probably wouldn’t settle it. That’s just me though.

Actually I would have them shorten the others to that same length as the other 3 look a bit long to me.
Any longer than necessary can result in the prong being ripped off.

I finally took this ring to a different jeweler, and the second jeweler has said that the prongs are ok.

However, the original jeweler who did the prongs (different jeweler than the one that looked at it recently) totally destroyed my 3 caret 5 stone ring when he had 4 of my rings in his possession. That jeweler also changed my original wedding band shank without permission.

Now that the emotional wounds aren't as fresh, I will have to do a separate thread on that disaster. It still hurts. A lot. I'm going to have DK remake me the same 5 stone ring. Hopefully, the diamonds weren't damaged. As for my wedding band, I don't know what to do.

Anyhow, I'm still a bit nervous about wearing my e-ring with the prongs now looking wonky. Nevertheless, I started to wear it again a couple of weeks ago.
