I used red item of clothing to place it as I read somebody suggested. Still not sure what I am looking for. Any suggestions?

Yes looks similar to the one I bought a couple weeks ago

Hi Priya,

I did read your thread but could not see your video as it's disabled. I can see the loupe360 one.

I was wondering if this is really bad leakage or acceptable, not too bad?

I am waiting to receive another pear cut one in the post to compare both.

Thanks

If that much light is leaking through at most angles as you turn the stone then yeah it's pretty bad.

The red behind really helps!, yes it has a lot of leakage and its larger areas.
Its normal for a pear to have some pin head leakage areas near the tip but large areas are not so great but are fairly common.

Thanks Karl,

I am new to the pear cut diamonds and since trying a ring in a store with this cut I wanted to own one as its very flattering. I guess back it goes for refund.

I will be back here next week once I receive the second diamond which will come in a platinum setting. Lets hope that it will be a better cut.

The leakage is hard to avoid in a cushion - but the black bow tie can be avoided.
If you get frustrated, as pears are really hard, try screening vendors by asking if they will provide ASET images.

Thank you. Here is the second diamond in plat setting. How wonky are these prongs? And I can't see any light leakage in this one due to being set. Is there a way to tell? Also I sent images of this to 77 diamonds and there's a burnt mark near the point underneath. IMG_20240809_122338.jpgIMG_20240809_122030.jpgIMG_20240809_115905.jpgIMG_20240809_115759.jpg

The red jumper is back! I think the D colour the diamond in the setting has less light leakage thank the G colour. What do you think guys? ThanksIMG_20240809_140357.jpgIMG_20240809_140640.jpgIMG_20240809_140654.jpgIMG_20240809_135431.jpgIMG_20240809_140347.jpg

Kall you are using a reverse Ideal-Scope.
You have it worked out.
Are there bow ties that concern you (they are not caused by leakage)?

Yes the set stone has less leakage.
In the pic where the prongs are pink that's from a top reflection so that pic is thrown out and not considered.

As Garry mentioned hows the bow tie at normal viewing distances by eye?
