The red behind really helps!, yes it has a lot of leakage and its larger areas.
Its normal for a pear to have some pin head leakage areas near the tip but large areas are not so great but are fairly common.
I am new to the pear cut diamonds and since trying a ring in a store with this cut I wanted to own one as its very flattering. I guess back it goes for refund.
I will be back here next week once I receive the second diamond which will come in a platinum setting. Lets hope that it will be a better cut.
The leakage is hard to avoid in a cushion - but the black bow tie can be avoided.
If you get frustrated, as pears are really hard, try screening vendors by asking if they will provide ASET images.
Thank you. Here is the second diamond in plat setting. How wonky are these prongs? And I can't see any light leakage in this one due to being set. Is there a way to tell? Also I sent images of this to 77 diamonds and there's a burnt mark near the point underneath.
