Is this light brown or what color or tint would you call this?

I found this stone, as if I need more…I’m always looking :lol-2: What am I seeing here? It’s a K or an L, I think but it’s got a cocoa tint to it? Is it light brown or leaning towards champagne? What am I seeing here? I actually think this stone is quite lovely.

I love a cool-ish pure brown (in contrast to a warm yellow-brown). And I am not an expert in diamond color. But I perceive it as a barely-there pinkish-brown in that video and on my monitor -- although I suspect the color I am seeing has more to do with factors extrinsic to the stone than intrinsic. In other words: not sure how much I trust the video for color.

Ysah i think it's brownish with perhaps a slight champagne hue?

I feel like that’s also what I’m seeing on my end. The interesting thing, to me, is that most 360 videos are true to color on my phone in comparison to in person. I wonder if that would be the case for this stone…

Ok, good! I’m glad others are seeing the same thing. A lot of the warmer diamonds I see are yellow or pond water in color.

I love this color! Cocoa with hints of pink. So much more fun than D-E-F.

I see brown. Likely untreated CVD. K/L should be noticeable in person.

Brownish-pink CVD are what my eyes are telling me.

I suspect it won’t be apparent in person though…
I bet you’re right :(2 It’s still a pretty little stone

Same here! I don’t think I search for any “white” stones these days, most of my searches go straight towards the warmer colors.

Yeppers! I don’t find too many warmer colors in HPHT, almost all of the ones I find are CVD with the exception of my warmer stone that’s a unicorn (I think LOL).

I don’t know what they translate to in person, but I really some of the pastel or lighter colored diamonds. There was one someone posted a few weeks back in specialty grudge, reminded me of a pink lemonade that was stunning but a bit pricey for a 2ct. If I had money just lying around I would experiment more with color but that’s not my situation so I’ll just window shop…

You think it would be? Curious as to what color gold one would set it in…if the stone was cupped with rose gold do you think that would bring out a bit of the color more?

On a random and sappy note, I sure wish there were people I knew here at home that liked to nerd out over stones and jewelry. I love this community but also wish I could grab a cup of tea with some jewelry friends!

An example of GIA L color brown vs grey vs yellow tint.

The difference is less obvious face up, but still noticeable to me even in F/G color at over 2 carats in warmer lighting/environments.

I think rose gold should help bring out the color more.

I love seeing diamonds in comparison on the white cards. I think I can tell the difference as well, especially side x side. So maybe this stone wouldn’t be an awful choice if the price is right :kiss2:

I LOOOOOVE this color!!!!!!! It's like a pink beige or something, its my favorite color of diamond other than clear!!

I can’t photograph it for anything today! I always struggle with pictures and videos - for one good picture or video there are probably 25 that didn’t make the cut! There is definitely a slight tint, to my eyes! The stone is a little sparklebug but I can’t get a good video…I wanted to set it in a halo that I picked out for the transitional cut I sold. I’m not sure if I set this stone or a color change garnet I have in my loose stone drawer! I’m adding all sorts of pictures and y’all can overwhelm me with your thoughts lol!

Link to garnet:

BTW I bought that faint brown stone from Ritani yesterday and I got it this morning! And it’s a K and the IGI cert did end up saying faint brown so we were right, it did have a slight tint!

What about the diamond as a moi et toi with the garnet...not that I think a photo of them side by side would be lovely to see or anything :-)

I hoenstly love it

Thank you! Amy from David Klass said we could put some enamel under the bezel to bring out some of the faint color. I’ve never experimented with that technique before and it’s rather new to me, in general. Would you set it as is or try to enhance the tint at all?

Haha! You don’t have to ask me twice! I’ve never thought of this combo! I think they look quite nice together. If I’m being honest though, I have no idea if this is a nice garnet but I do love the color and it’s moodiness. 1159254984904518085.jpeg

This combo was made to go with your nails :)

oooo, what color enamel? I think a rose gold cup would be *chefs kiss*

The funny thing is that I never wear pink polish, the brightness and glitter is way outside my comfort zone! Actually, the color of the garnet is outside my comfort zone too lol!

That is an excellent question that I did not know to ask lol! Would you suggest a closed cup or an half cup? I may be using these terms wrong FYI :)

I would do a full cup but with a hole on the side/bottom in order to clean it

Do you know if a cup replaces the gallery? Or does it go inside and it’s visible from the gallery? I wasn’t able to find much online about cupping stones or what they look like.
