Is this I1 Diamond a good buy?

You can ask the people at James Allen how noticeable they are, but I think for most people those inclusions would be easily seen with the naked eye. If it were me and I wanted to stay at that size and price, I'd go up in clarity to at least an SI2 and down in color to an I. That might not work if you're really color-sensitive, but if you are really color sensitive I think the inclusions in both those I1 stones would also pop out at you.

My first engagement ring is an eye clean I1. The visible inclusions never bothered me. However, I would call JA and see what they say.

i have seen far cleaner I1's on JA. if you don't care what the report says i think you can keep looking, these don't seem to be the best- i have seen some where there is just one inclusion that is prongable. Can you wait and keep searching?

Here are examples of what i consider easy to hide/ fairly clean I1s on JA (note: not opining on the diamonds themselves, just the inclusion location)

A VS1 K (well cut so will reflect light nicely and sparkle)

Well cut H...not sure how visible the inclusion is though

This stone is barely over budget J and VS1 $3030

JA has a trade in/up option so in a few years when you're ready you can go for that 1+ carat!

That first one in the Op's second post is a definite no. The others don't look great. Wait until somone gets some to choose from.

this comes pretty close and according to the parameters. it has an inclusion visible, asking JA if its eye clean now.

That has a huge feather (or 2) that goes almost half way across the stone. :(

Okay... so that diamond has a beautiful cut, no doubt, and it also has a very high color (which is nice). However, it will not be eye clean due to the large inclusion on the table.

That said, I minimized it to see just how bad it would be. Even at larger than it would actually be IRL, I think I could deal with the inclusion. At that size (1 ct-ish), it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. It appears to be pretty clean from the side view, so a solitaire setting would be fine, IMO. I would definitely consider this one. You just have to decide if that table inclusion is going to bother you...

Have you asked JA to pull it for you?

I would consider this one as well... It scores 1.6 on HCA and has SBF (which will make it appear whiter in some lighting conditions). You would just need to have JA double check to make sure the SBF doesn't have any negative impact on the stone, such as haziness/milkiness. I LOVE fluorescence, and wish my stone had more than "negligible"...

It is a 60/60 stone, so it will throw more white light (which will also help with the color). Some people don't care for 60/60's, and some love them -- I love them. 8)

It does have a black inclusion on the table, but it looks to be pretty clean from the side view and otherwise. Minimize it as it would appear on your finger (or larger) to see if it's "eye clean" enough for you.
