If you put the numbers in the HCA you will come up with a 5.5 which is not exactly a wonderful diamond.

If you are looking locally look for GIA excellent cut and plug the numbers into the HCA here ----> https://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp
Or look for an AGS 0 cut. You want the number to be 2.0 or lower. Hope that helps!

so how much can this diamond sell for

I don''t know exactly. I can''t find one cut that poorly to tell, but the closest I found was 4797.00

who, are you seriously interested in this stone?

Thanks a lot, Ellen. That snort cost me a perfectly good mouthful of white zin. Not to mention the clean up on hubby''s puter screen.

There’s a tool at the top of the screen here titled ‘pricescope your diamond’. Enter in your specs and search for a stone using the 'search all' button. Try size 1.01-1.03cts. of identical clarity and color. You can sort by price by clicking on the column header.

Look for GIA graded stones only and since you’re not paying for a cutting premium you’ll be near the low end of the set. Local stores generally are a bit more expensive than the people here but this will give you an idea of the expected pricing at least in the marketplace here.

Oh, well I found this for $4,000 http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1112004.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

The sparkle factor will make a big difference from an excellent cut stone versus good cut.

Use this tool to find a gorgeous stone. Pick excellent - excellent when looking at cut rank. https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx

Yes, there is definitely a difference in sparkle/brightness between a well cut stone and a poor one.

However, I can find you a great looking stone for the same price. We''ll just go down a little in color/clarity perhaps. As long as the diamond is well cut, you can do that and it will still look beautiful. Great cut helps hide color and inclusions.

Ok, here''s a great one. You will need to ask if it''s eyeclean, if that is important to you. The price does not reflect the PS discount. I''m not sure how much that is either, but they can tell you, but it''s less than what you were going to pay, that''s the good news. And this is a very reputable company to work with.

JA has more diamonds in this category/price range (in case this one doesn''t work out), but I got so frustrated with losing my search page I quit trying.

I hope this helps.

Oh Skippy, I found the same diamond!! I didn''t realize you had linked one.
